30 Products for the Brother MFC-8820 MultiFunction Center
Brother MFC-8820 Review
The Brother MFC-8820 is available in both a network ready and non network ready model, making it a versatile multifunctional line that offers users some degree of choice. This all in one print, copy, scan, and fax machine is an affordable way to cut back on overhead by combining many office appliances into one. With its flip up flatbed design and top of the notch fax speeds, the unit is definitely worth taking a look at.
The most outstanding function of the Brother MFC-8820 is its fax capabilities. This is mostly due to the timelessness of good fax functionality and the limitations of the technology itself. Nonetheless, with a fax transmission and reception speed as fast as 2 seconds per page, the unit’s built in Super G3 fax modem is top of the line, even today. The unit comes with 20 one touch dialing buttons dedicated on the face of the device, and each button can also dial to a second number when hit twice (though, technically, this would make it a two touch dial.) Regular speed dialing can be accessed through the unit’s menu, and up to 300 speed dial locations can be stored.
Operating at a print speed of up to 16 pages per minute, while suitable for home use, is more or less unacceptable by the current standard in office laser printing. While units on the market today that come in much smaller packages can produce speeds twice this fast, the Brother MFC-8820 suffers from some degree of obsolescence due to its low performance. Copy speeds also top out at 16 copies per minute. |
