Product Description
Toner Cartridge for Canon imageCLASS MF4450 All-in-One Machine

This toner cartridge prints 2100 pages with average 5% coverage (Nearly all Printer manufacturers base their ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% page coverage).

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Canon.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Product Manuals
When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Canon imageCLASS MF4450?
You must replace the toner cartridge installed in your Canon imageCLASS MF4450, if:

The following warning message ''PREPARE NEW TONER CARTRIDGE'' is displayed on the control LCD of your laser multifunction printer. The installed toner cartridge should be replaced soon after the initial appearance of this advance notification, because the toner level has dropped under the normal working minimum, and soon there will be no toner left for your next print tasks.

The following warning message ''TONER IS NEARLY OUT.'' is displayed on the control LCD of your laser multifunctional printer. You should install a new toner cartridge, because the currently installed cartridge is 99% exhausted/emptied. Otherwise, all print operations/functions will be disabled very soon, due to a completely exhausted/emptied toner cartridge.

A variety of print quality issues, such as white streaks or/and faded parts, are appearing on each newly printed document. You should install a new toner cartridge even if there is no indication for a low toner level or an exhausted toner cartridge. Otherwise, the print quality will be gradually decreasing and even more print quality issues will appear on each new print/copy.

You could easily check the toner level of the currently installed toner cartridge by executing the short procedure included below.

Toner Level Check

1. Look at the top side of your Canon imageCLASS MF4450 and locate the control panel.
2. Press [Status Monitor/Cancel].
3. Select ''Device status'' by pressing [^], and then press [OK].
4. Select ''Toner Gauge'' by pressing [^], and then press [OK]. - You will see one of the following toner level indicating messages displayed on the LCD: ''OK'', ''LOW'', or ''NEARLY OUT''.
5. Press [Status Monitor/Cancel] to restore the normal printer's mode.
How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Canon imageCLASS MF4450
In the first step of the toner cartridge replacement procedure, you must open the toner cartridge compartment by lifting the scanning platform of your Canon imageCLASS MF4450, and then open the toner cover. After that, you must carefully pull the exhausted toner cartridge out of the compartment, and then unpack the new toner cartridge. Now, you must prepare the new toner cartridge for installation by shaking it 7-8 times with a rotating motion, and then gently pull of the protective sealing tape (it's approximately 20inches/50centimeters long). Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must align its protrusions with the guides of the toner cartridge slot, and then insert the cartridge until it stops. Finally, you must close the toner cover, and then close the toner cartridge's compartment by lowering the scanning platform of your Canon imageCLASS MF4450.

Canon ImageClass MF4450 Review

Overview:

As the stripped down version of the popular Canon ImageClass MF4750DN, the ImageClass MF4450 has a lot to offer the personal user at a lower price point than its network ready counterpart. Unfortunately, the savings are not enough to make this unit particularly more appealing than the higher end model that is equipped with duplexing as well as Ethernet.

Pros:

The Canon ImageClass MF4450 does maintain a flatbed scanner as well as a 35 page automatic document feeder, making it great for personal scanning and stand alone copying. The unit also makes a great faxing tool as the ADF can help a great deal when sending very large faxes.

Faxing capabilities include up to 256 sheets worth of storage data to protect your incoming faxes in the event of a paper jam or outage and a Super G3 33.6 Kbps modem. The unit only includes 4 one touch speed dial buttons but you can program up to 100 numbers into the machine’s phone book.

Copies can only be made at resolutions of up to 600 x 600 dots per inch. This means that imagery copied through the machine will be of somewhat substandard quality, though simple black and white text should replicate just fine. The copy speeds, like print speeds, are mediocre at only 24 copies per minute. Similarly priced units that are available can far outmatch this copy speed. The device’s first copy time is good though at about 9 seconds, meaning those requiring a quick single page reproduction will be in and out in no time.

Optical scans also top out at only 600 x 600 dots per inch, but users can take advantage of an interpolated scan for quality up to 9600 x 9600 dots per inch, though these enhanced scans often take painfully long amounts of time to execute. The scanner is also capable of rotating images and “pushing” scans to a PC. Unlike the other features of the unit, the Canon ImageClass MF4450 can scan in full color at 24 bits.

Cons:

The unit is a little large for a USB only printer, as it would most likely end up taking up a lot of space on one’s desktop. Additionally, the additional network support costing roughly $50 extra simply makes the Canon ImageClass MF4750DN the more attractive printer. If a built in duplexer and network card would truly go to waste for your uses, go ahead and save the money, but if there is any chance whatsoever that these features could be valuable, shell out the extra dough.

Canon also rates the Canon ImageClass MF4450 slightly slower than the 4750 as far as print speed with the brand claiming 24 pages per minute against 26. While this is only a marginal difference in speed, it can prove to be noticeable when dealing with large projects. Essentially though, both printers are going to operate with the same hardware throughout and the boost in speed can probably be attributed to additional memory, which can be added to the 4450 for a price.
