Product Description
Canon LaserClass 2050/2050P Toner Cartridge - 2,700Pages

This Toner Cartridge prints 2700 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Canon specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Canon.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Product Manuals
When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Canon LaserCLASS 2050?
The Canon LaserCLASS 2050 is equipped with an All-in-One FX3 cartridge, which contains the photoconductive drum and a black, resin coated powder – the toner. The installed toner cartridge is the only component that needs regular service or replacement, which makes the maintenance of your laser fax machine very simple. You must replace the installed toner cartridge, if any of the listed messages or print-quality issues appears.

Nothing prints; Blank printouts – You must make sure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly. Please install a new toner cartridge, if the problem persists.

The printout quality is negatively affected by vertical white streaks – This is an indication for a low toner level. You should install a new toner cartridge to resolve the issue.

The following message ‘’CHANGE CARTRIDGE’’ is displayed – The installed toner cartridge is at the end of its useful life. You must install a new toner cartridge. Otherwise, all print operations will be suspended very soon. Please note that all incoming faxes will be stored in the internal memory, if the toner cartridge is empty.

‘’CHECK COVER/CART’’ is displayed – You must make sure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly, and then close the front cover firmly. A new toner cartridge must be installed, if the message continues to be displayed on the LCD.

‘’CHECK PRINTER’’ – The installed toner cartridge is defective or damaged. You must install a new toner cartridge to be able to continue printing.

‘’REC’D IN MEMORY’’ – You should try to resolve the issue by loading paper into the multi-purpose tray. Please also check the machine for paper jams. The toner cartridge must be replaced, if the problem persists.

Please note that you can extend the lifespan of the installed toner cartridge up to 40% by enabling the ‘’ECONOMY PRT’’ setting (a toner saving feature). You should follow the detailed instructions included below, when the installed toner cartridge reaches the end of its useful life.
How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Canon LaserCLASS 2050
You must make sure that your Canon LaserCLASS 2050 is in a Stand-by mode, and then remove any documents/printed pages from the trays. After that, you must lift the right side release latch to open the front cover, and then pull the empty toner cartridge out of the machine. Now, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the protective bag, and then shake it six-seven times vertically to ensure equal toner distribution, and resp. to avoid future print quality issues. In the next step of the installation, you must remove the protective sealing tape by carefully pulling its plastic tab away from the new toner cartridge, and then align the tabs of the new component with the rails inside the Canon LaserCLASS 2050. Once the new toner cartridge is correctly aligned, you must slide it firmly into the compartment, and then press the cartridge’s handle down and back. Finally, you must close the front cover.

Canon LaserClass 2050 Printer Review

Overview:

The Canon LaserClass 2050 is an outstanding printer that will meet your home printing needs. It is well built and can fax, print, and copy.

Pros:

This multifunctional device offers many great features that you will love. The Canon LaserClass 2050 can fax, print, and copy. The most limited feature is its copying ability. Its fax machine is outstanding. The Canon LaserClass 2050 comes with Super G3 transmission speeds of up to 33.6 kbps, but can also slow down transmission to accommodate slower machines, and can transmit up to 3 pages per minute. Its 4 MB of memory can store up to 256 pages for later retrieval.

Toner cartridges for the Canon LaserClass 2050 yield 2,700 pages. They are affordable, making this multifunctional device an economical choice. The Canon 2050 makes a great choice for a small office on a budget. Output quality is excellent and it is affordable.

Cons:

Most offices need a scanner and the Canon LaserClass 2050 lacks this features. As a result, you won’t be able turn hard copies into digital files. Another drawback is that the scanner for copying is not as well built as other copy machines in its class. Copies produced with it demonstrate less clarity.
The Canon LaserClass 2050 is slow and only prints six pages per minute.
