Product Description
Canon PC-150 Toner Cartridge - 4000Pages (Canon PC150 Toner)

This Toner Cartridge prints 4000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Canon specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Canon.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Canon PC-150 Review

Overview:

The portable Canon PC-150 copy machine is one of the more unique gadgets to be found in the world of copy machines, as this device is designed to be completely mobile as well as fully functional. Those looking for an innovative solution to various remote copy needs can look no further than the very handy Canon PC-150.

Pros:

Believe it or not, the Canon PC-150 mobile copy machine is actually faster in one aspect than most standard copy machines, including full sized ones. The unit operates using a technology that allows for a warm up time of absolutely zero. This is because the device does not rely on the current conventional standards of digital copying. Unfortunately this also results in a few drawbacks such as the lack of the ability to make multiple copies at once.

The unit uses a direct transfer method instead of digitally recording scan data. This results in a complete lack of features, but also results in a product that is very inexpensive and also highly portable. The Canon PC-150 even comes complete with its own carrying handle. Its paper input and output trays fold up and the device becomes very manageable, though the power cord will need to be carried separately.

The Canon PC-150 actually accepts a surprising range of paper thicknesses. This is certainly due to the fact that the copy machine relies on a straight through paper path for printing reproductions and, in fact, with a straight through path Canon could easily have pushed the device a little further as far as compatibility, but 17 to 32 lbs. of printable range is good enough for most applications. Those who are brave enough could almost certainly get away with printing thicker as well, though it is hard to say what doing this frequently would do to the included one year warranty.

Cons:

It is hard to pick on the Canon PC-150 for being a poor performer, as the device is somewhat one of a kind, but some of its features should at least be put into context in comparison to a standard copy machine. One of the main flaws of the unit is that it lacks the common features found in a digital copy machine. Because the device is a direct transfer unit, it cannot store input data digitally and therefore cannot produce more than one copy at once. Instead, each copy process will have to be repeated by hand.

Another drawback of the non-digital copy method is that the device cannot double as a printer. Admittedly, the unit has a very unique purpose, but it still would be preferable to have a digital machine that is both a copy machine and a printer.

One complaint that really could have been avoided is the device’s limited paper size compatibility. The Canon PC-150 can print to letter sized paper just fine, but legal size copies cannot be made with this unit. This is due to the limitations of the copy machine’s document glass size which make copies larger than 11 inches impossible.
