The Canon PC-940 is an effective personal copier that will deliver top of the line performance in producing excellent qualities for copies of all kinds, from text documents to high quality monochrome images and graphics. With its Single Cartridge System, the Canon PC-940 is a hassle-free copier suitable for users that prefer a maintenance-free copying system.

Pros:

The Canon PC-940 can produce 13 copies per minute for letter paper types and 11 copies for legal paper types for every minute. It can also produce up to 100 copies for its multiple copying options. For zoom options, the Canon PC-940 has a standard of 100% with preset reductions of 70%, 78% and 86%. Preset enlargement is at 141%. However, it can do manual zoom in 1% increments, making the Canon PC-940 capable of making customized and personalized sized copies. For first time copy outputs, the Canon PC-940 is quite fast, able to churn out results in as fast as 10 seconds. Warm up time is more impressive, as the copier is ready in less than a second at 20 degrees Celsius.

The Canon PC-940 uses an electrostatic transfer for its copying method, while for its fixing system, the Canon PC-940 employs Canon's RAPID Fusing System which enables this copier to produces copies in a very fast manner without warm up time  consumption and needless waiting. Acceptable originals include sheets, books and even 3-dimensional objects. The Canon PC-940 also has exposure controls that include automatic, manual, photo mode and also tone saver. Copy sizes that are supported include business cards that have a 2” x 3.5” inch dimensions up to letter with 8.5” x 11” inches and also legal paper types with 8.5” x 14” inches. As a basic home copier, the Canon PC-940 covers the bare essentials for producing copies; however, the Canon PC-940 could use more features to increase its appeal to users especially for small office users. First, the Canon PC-940 only has a modest speed while some copiers in the market can produce much faster speeds. Also as a stand alone copier, the Canon PC-940 can use the color copy capability. As a monochrome copier, a lot of users might prefer a different copier that can produce both monochrome and color outputs, especially since home user needs mostly include color copies, especially for image copies and graphics. Also, its duty cycle is a bit low, owing mostly to it being built  mainly as a home and personal copier.
