HP DESKJET D2500 HIGH YIELD BLACK INK CARTRIDGE

You can check the approximate ink level of each installed ink cartridge by opening the HP Toolbox program and selecting the [Estimated Ink Levels] option. An installed ink cartridge should be replaced if its approximate ink level is less than 10%.
The HP DeskJet D2500 InkJet Printer features Ink Cartridge Status LEDs, which are located on the control panel. The left LED indicates the status of the Tri-color ink cartridge, and resp. the right LED indicates the Black ink-cartridge status. You can find all Status LED indications and their meaning below.

The Tri-color Status LED is on – You should purchase a new Tri-color ink cartridge because the installed one is nearly empty.

The Tri-color Status LED flashes – The installed Tri-color ink cartridge has been exhausted. You should install a new Tri-color ink cartridge.

The Black Status LED is on – The installed Black ink cartridge is near the end of its useful life. A new Black ink cartridge will be needed soon.

The Black Status LED flashes – The installed Black ink cartridge is empty. You should install a new Black ink cartridge. Please note that you can continue printing if a Tri-color ink cartridge is installed. However, printing only with the Tri-color ink cartridge installed can decrease the printing speed and the print quality. Please note that you should always have two ink cartridges installed when printing borderless photos.

Furthermore, you should replace the installed ink cartridges if you have already executed the ink cartridge cleaning procedure, but print quality remains unsatisfactory. Please note that you can clean the installed ink cartridges by selecting [HP Toolbox] – [Clear the print cartridges] – [Clean]. Please be aware that the cleaning procedure uses ink. Therefore, you should avoid executing the cleaning procedure without need. All unused/spare ink cartridges should be kept in their original sealed packages until they are needed.

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must turn on the HP DeskJet D2500 InkJet Printer by pressing the [Power] button, and then open the top cover. Please wait until the ink cartridge carriage stops moving. After that, you must unlock the exhausted ink cartridge by pushing it gently down, and then remove the cartridge by sliding it towards you. Now, you must unpack a new ink cartridge of the corresponding color, and then remove the protective plastic tape from the contact area of the new component. Please do not touch the ink nozzles or the copper contacts of the new ink cartridge. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must align the new ink cartridge with the corresponding slot of the ink cartridge carriage, and then slide it firmly into the carriage. Once the new ink cartridge is firmly inserted, you must push it gently down until it clicks into place, and then close the top cover of your HP DeskJet D2500 InkJet Printer. Finally, you must load paper into the tray, and then select [HP Toolbox] – [Align the print cartridges] – [Align].
