TOSHIBA E-STUDIO 232 TONER CARTRIDGE

When a toner cartridge runs completely out of toner in the Toshiba E-Studio 232, the device alerts users in two ways. A replace cartridge symbol will blink constantly and an INSTALL NEW CARTRIDGE message will appear. Due to the high end quality of this copy machine, Toshiba recommends using OEM consumables.

Begin replacing the cartridge by opening the front cover to the printer. Press down on the GREEN release lever and remove the cartridge. Dispose of the cartridge properly and never place it in or near a fire as it may explode. Thoroughly shake the new toner cartridge to loosen up the interior toner and distribute it. A small seal must be removed from the cartridge before it can be inserted into the computer. This must be peeled away in the direction of its small ARROW.

Now the cartridge is ready to be installed. Push the cartridge into the machine until you hear an audible CLICK. This ensures that the cartridge has been locked into place, but installation is not yet complete.

To complete installation, continue by lowering the bypass tray. Open the device’s automatic duplexer by pulling up on its handle and then down on the tray. Next, the transfer cover must be opened as well. Inside, you will find a small transfer charger cleaner in a small pocket. Use the cleaning tool to wipe the charge wire, then return the tool to its home.

Close the transfer charger, the duplexer, and the bypass tray, in that order. Then the front cover can be closed and the printer tested for proper installation.

If a paper jam occurs in the drawer feeding area, it will be indicated by a blinking alert light. Paper jams in this area can easily be removed. Begin the process by simply opening the drawer feeding cover. Lodged paper should quite easily be able to be removed. If it is not, then the jam exists in another area, such as the paper feeding cover side.

When the jammed paper has been successfully removed, close the cover and print a test page.

A jam symbol will blink in the actual physical location where a paper jam has occurred, such as in the optional Reversing Automatic Document Feeder. When this happens in the RADF, the following procedure must be followed to properly remove the paper without damaging the integral parts of the machine. Begin by raising the small lever that releases the cover of the RADF, then lifting the cover.

If a piece of input material is jammed, remove it. Turn the feed dial to walk it out of the machine if necessary. Next, open the transport guide and raise the guide plate located under the guide itself. If paper is found under the guide plate, remove it, then close the guide and the cover.

Open the lid to the RADF and open its reverse cover to remove an original that has been caught, if that is the case, then close the cover. Raise the release lever to once again open the front cover of the unit. The feeding tray under the cover can also be lifted to remove unwanted paper jams. Once all jammed paper has been removed, close all compartments and test the machine.
