Panasonic FP-7718 Review
Released in the mid of 1996, Panasonic FP-7718 battled in the monochrome copier market industry bringing its reliable and cost-effective system that’s ready to aid small and midmarket establishments. Although it may seem unfit for it to be compared with today’s many advanced copiers that are even multifunctional, many of the useful features that are endured up to today are already offered and available in FP-7718. The design is fit for smaller work areas and is made to complement PCs of the yesteryears with it revamped in cream color. Quality is respectable that should justify it being a considerable workflow boost. The overall structure is coupled by several simple yet smart looking lines that just enhanced its individuality. The main body stands in its rectangular box resemblance of considerable dimensions which increases with the addition of the optional bin sorter which will be mounted at the left part.
As a monochrome copier, it provides decent copies of vibrant tones and fine figuration that are of crisp details at a considerable speed of 18 CPM (copies per minute) for letter sizes. Zooming preferences can be done in a range between 99% to 50% in increments of 1% for reduction and 101% to 200% also in increments of 1% for enlargement. Its paper feeders can take a number of different paper sizes including ledger size (11” x 17”), legal size (8 ½“ x 14”), letter size (8 ½“ x 11”), letter R size (8 ½“ x 11”), and invoice size (5 ½“ x 8 ½“) with the ledger and invoice sizes being the maximum and minimum size capacity respectively. Exposure control is detected automatically allowing it to choose either to copy in text mode or photo mode. Multiple copying is as well available for FP-7718 enabling to 999 copies that then automatically resets to 1.
As an old model, FP-7718 already stands out with its functionality when compared to many monochrome copier of its batch but one may consider its sister monochrome copiers that pose same capabilities that of FP-7718 but with faster copy speed and more additional helpful features. These include FP-7722 of 22 CPM, FP-7728 of 28 CPM and FP-7735 of 35 CPM which also features 20-Bin Sorter, Automatic Duplex Unit and a 3000-sheet paper cassette which is all absent in FP-7718. Mobility can be a hassle as well with the relatively heavy weight at approximately 138 lbs. |
