When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the HP LaserJet 3300 Multifunction Printer?

There are two types of toner cartridges available for your HP LaserJet 3300 Multifunction Printer: Standard, and High Yield. The lifespan of the Standard toner cartridge is approximately 2500 pages at 5% coverage. The high yield toner cartridge has a bigger print resource, and its lifespan is approx. 3500 pages at 5% coverage. You can extend the lifespan of the installed toner cartridge by using the ‘’HP EconoMode’’. Please note that you can turn this toner saving mode by opening the ‘’HP LaserJet Director’’ and navigating to [Tools] – [Device Configuration] – [Print Quality], where you must select [EconoMode On].
You should replace the installed toner cartridge, when any of the described below print quality issues and warning messages appears.

• Light prints – The installed toner cartridge is nearly empty. You must install a new toner cartridge.

• Dropouts – This is an indication for a damaged or defective toner cartridge. A new toner cartridge must be installed.

• Vertical lines – The most common cause of this print quality issue is damaged/scratched drum surface. Please note that the photoconductive drum is built into the toner cartridge. Therefore, you should install a new toner cartridge.

• Gray background – You should try to resolve the issue by decreasing the print density settings through ‘’HP LaserJet Device Configuration’’. The installed toner cartridge must be replaced, if the issue persists.

• Toner Smear or Loose Toner – The installed toner cartridge has been exhausted, or damaged. You should install a new toner cartridge.

Overview:

The HP LaserJet 3300 was built for the personal or small office user. With this unit you get the ability to print, copy, and scan. However it lacks scanning capabilities. Print speeds are slow at 13 pages per minute.

Pros:

This unit is compact and won’t take up a lot of space in your office. The paper tray sticks out near the bottom and as a result you will need more space in the front than its measurements would lead one to believe. The LCD screen is easy to use and offers the control buttons that you need.

Output speed is around 13 pages per minute. Text quality is good with well defined letters. Toner cartridges are easy to replace. They yield 3,500 pages and don’t cost a lot. With the HP LaserJet 3300 per page printing cost are low.

The HP LaserJet 3300 offers many good features. However its slow printing speeds might turn you off. The unit is less than appealing due to its lack of faxing capabilities and an automatic document feeder.

Cons:

The HP LaserJet 3300 lacks faxing and doesn’t have an automatic document feeder. Graphic quality with this printer is below average.
