When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the HP LaserJet 3380 Printer?

There are two types of toner cartridges available for your HP LaserJet 3380 Printer: standard, and high yield. The lifespan of the installed toner cartridge depends upon several factors, such as the average percentage of page coverage (the most significant factor), the chosen print quality settings, and the number of printed pages per task/job. A standard toner cartridge prints approx. 2500 pages at 5% page coverage. You will be able to print up to 3500 pages at 5% coverage, if the installed toner cartridge is from the high yield type. You can extend the useful life of the installed toner cartridge, regardless of its type, by the use of the ‘’HP EconoMode’’ that can be selected from the [Printer Properties] section. Please note that the ‘’EconoMode’’ reduces the toner consumption, but it also decreases the print quality.
Your HP LaserJet 3380 Printer constantly monitors the status of the installed toner cartridge. The following message ‘’No Print Cartridge’’ will be displayed on the control panel, if the laser printer has detected a toner cartridge status abnormality. You will have to reinstall the toner cartridge by following the instructions given further below, if the error message appears. A new toner cartridge must be installed, if the error message is displayed after the correct reinstallation.

Pros:

With the HP LaserJet 3380 you will get all the features that you need. It can copy, print, scan, and fax. No matter which function you are using, it is fast.

The design of it is appealing. The footprint of this unit is relatively small, but the paper tray sticks out from the front of the unit, taking up more space in the front. There is a dust cover that comes along with it to keep the paper from getting dusty.

The control panel of the HP 3380 is easy to use. Buttons are arranged according to their functions. These buttons provide access to the features that you typically use. This will save you time when you need to print.

With the HP LaserJet 3380, you never have to worry about printing speeds. It produces 20 pages per minute.

HP LaserJet 3380 toner cartridges are perfect for a small office user or a small network environment. Black toner cartridges yield 3,500 pages. The HP LaserJet 3380 is a well-designed and well built. However print quality is below average and you have to change toner cartridges frequently as well.

Cons:

One drawback of the HP LaserJet 3380 is that print quality is substandard. Text quality is generally decent, but loses its clarity as font sizes get smaller. Graphics quality is poor and you will see banding and disappearing lines. The HP LaserJet 3380 also lacks color printing.
