HP COLOR LASERJET CP4005 BLACK TONER CARTRIDGE

The four toner cartridges installed in your HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Laser Printer are consumable components. You can check the status of all installed consumables from the [Supplies Status] tab of the HP Printer Utility. Please note that a new, standard toner cartridge lasts approx. 7,500 pages at 5% coverage. Please also note that the consumption levels of the installed toner cartridges will be displayed on the LCD screen when the laser printer is in a Ready state.
The printer will display one of the listed messages on the control panel LCD when a toner cartridge related abnormality occurs. Please follow the detailed instructions given after each of the listed messages to solve the problem.

[10.90.X REPLACE [COLOR] CARTRIDGE] – The indicated toner cartridge is empty. Please install a new [COLOR] toner cartridge. Detailed instructions on how to install the new toner cartridge are included further below.

[10.X.X CARTRIDGES NOT ENGAGED] – The toner cartridges are not seated properly into the slots. Please reinstall the toner cartridges correctly.

[10.X.X SUPPLY MEMORY ERROR] – The memory tag of the indicated toner cartridge is inaccessible. Please reinstall the indicated toner cartridge, and then test the laser printer. A new [COLOR] toner cartridge must be installed if the problem persists. Please note that the second [X] letter will be replaced with a number from 0 to 3, which corresponds to one of the installed toner cartridges as follows:

00 – Black
01 – Cyan
02 – Magenta
03 – Yellow

[CARTRIDGE [COLOR] IN WRONG POSITION] – You have installed the indicated cartridge into a wrong slot. Please reinstall all toner cartridges, being careful to insert each toner cartridge into the corresponding (regarding color) slot.

[GENUINE HP SUPPLIES INSTALLED] – You have installed OEM supplies.

[INCOMPATIBLE [COLOR] CARTRIDGE] – The indicated toner cartridge cannot be used in your HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Laser Printer. Please replace the specified toner cartridge with a compatible OEM or non-OEM product.

[INSTALL SUPPLIES] – Several toner cartridges are missing (not installed). Please install all toner cartridges.

[NON HP SUPPLY IN USE] – The indicated component is a compatible, non-OEM product. No action necessary.

[ORDER [COLOR] CARTRIDGE] – The indicated color cartridge is nearly empty. You should order a new [COLOR] toner cartridge soon. Please note that printing will continue until all [COLOR] toner is consumed.

[TRANSFER UNIT CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED] – This message will appear if one or more toner cartridges are incorrectly installed. Please be aware that an incorrectly installed toner cartridge can damage the sensitive surface of the installed transfer unit. Therefore, you should reinstall all toner cartridges correctly.

The print-quality issues listed below also indicate that an installed toner cartridge(s) needs to be replaced.

Missing color(s) – The corresponding toner cartridge is defective. You must install a new [COLOR] toner cartridge.

Inconsistent color(s) – An indication for an exhausted toner cartridge. Please replace the corresponding toner cartridge.

Repetitive defects appearing at 1.68 inches intervals

Initially, you must open the top cover of the HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Laser Printer, and then pull down the front cover along with the transfer unit. Please avoid touching the fusing area, and do not place any item on the transfer unit. Next, you must pull the exhausted toner cartridge towards you to remove it from the color laser printer, and then unpack the new toner cartridge. Once the new toner cartridge is unpacked, you must slide it along the guides of the corresponding slot until it stops, and then close the front cover. Finally, you must close the top cover of your HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Laser Printer.
