Kyocera Mita FS-1100 Review
As time passes, quality improves and features are enhanced notably for another FS series of Kyocera Mita, the FS-1100, a mono laser printer which did surpass its preceding Kyocera Mita-designed printers. Appearance and design are enhanced with new features integrated and speed is made to top every other printers. The amazing technology of Kyocera Mita made FS-1100 maintain the reliability and production of long lasting printers at a modest price which can be the best deal you may get from a laser printer.
If you’re already amazed with the earlier printers designed by Kyocera Mita, you should be upgrading your amazement with the upgraded speed of FS-1100. Previous FS printers with 5W sleep mode integrated takes longer to leap into action from sleep mode thus reducing the speed for warm-up and first print out time but for FS-1100, speed is maintained even from the sleep mode. With this, it boasts an amazingly fast warm-up time of less than 15 seconds and a first print out time of only less than 6 seconds. It’s best for quick printing needs at an excellent per minute printing speed of 30 PPM (pages per minute) for letter size and 24 PPM for legal size. If still this speed does not impress you at all, Kyocera Mita offers an upgrade of FS-1100 printer memory for up to 544 MB via 100 pin DDR DIMM slot from its standard 32 MB memory.
Behind FS-1100’s dense and vibrant text outputs, it appears to be thinner compared to other mono laser printers and has a very slight banding in its photo printouts. Also the print engine and idle fan seems to be a little noisier compared to some typical personal printers available in the market. Operating system compatibility is also a hassle as by default, it is incompatible to newer operating systems namely Windows Vista and 7 since its compatibility are on operating systems prior to its release or in the case of Windows OS, its compatibility is only until Windows XP and so driver/s (if available, which may be found directly in the official manufacturer’s site) is/are needed to be downloaded and installed to be compatible with these newer operating systems. |
