Lanier LD015 Toner - 7000 Pages (LD-015 Copier Cartridge)
  OVER 100

Price:  $18.89
Product Description
Lanier LD-015 Toner Cartridge - 7,000 Pages

This Toner Cartridge prints 7000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Lanier specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Lanier.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Product Manuals
When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Lanier LD-015 Copier?
The Lanier LD-015 Copier features a built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the installed toner cartridge. Once the toner level becomes too low, you will see that the ‘’Add Toner’’ indicator (illustrates six black dots in pyramidal order with an arrow pointing towards the dots) is blinking. You will be still able to print approximately 50 more copies/prints in this situation. However, the print quality will be drastically decreased, and eventually the toner will be completely consumed, which will lead to the disabling of all printing/copying operations. Herein, you should always keep a spare toner cartridge for your Lanier LD-015 Copier.
How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Lanier LD-015 Copier
The toner cartridge replacement in your Lanier LD-015 Copier is a very easy procedure, which requires less than 10 minutes for complete execution. In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover, and then locate the exhausted toner cartridge. After that, you must lift, push in, and then pull towards you the green lever of the toner cartridge holder, until the holder is out of the printer`s slot. Then, you must gently push the exhausted toner cartridge towards the slot, in order to raise its front side. Now, you will be able to completely remove the exhausted toner cartridge from the copier by pulling it towards you at an angle of 45 degrees. Once the old/exhausted toner cartridge is out of the printer, you must unpack, and then shake the new cartridge 5-6 times horizontally. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the black sealing cap and insert the new toner cartridge into the toner cartridge holder. After that, you must push the toner cartridge holder in, until it clicks, and then push down its green lever. Finally, you can close the front cover of your Lanier LD-015 Copier and continue with your next printing/copying project.

Lanier LD-015 Review

The years have not been kind to the Lanier LD-015 as this device’s dated specifications and limited feature set rank it very low when measured up to current standards of laser copy machines. This 15 page per minute bare bones, single function copier may have been hot stuff in 2004 but almost a decade later, the unit no longer holds up.

As is, the Lanier LD-015 is a completely stripped down unit without any connectivity whatsoever. It is a stand alone copy machine and nothing more. There are, however, various add ons and hardware variations that elevate this stripped down unit to the status of a 3 or 4 in 1 machine. The Lanier LD-015f version of the hardware includes a fax module and modem, while the Lanier LD-015spf model also includes scanning and printing capabilities that are made possible by a USB port.

When the fax modem is in place, the unit can transmit at an impressive rate of about 3 seconds per page thanks to the 33.6 Kbps Super G3 speed. 2 MBs of fax memory is part of the fax package and is enough storage space for about 160 pages of fax data. This means that incoming faxes that cannot be printed immediately due to a paper outage or paper jam will be stored digitally until it can be.

Only 16 MBs of memory are included in the Lanier LD-015 base model, but this can be upgraded if needed, while the Lanier LD-015f version comes with a solid 64 MBs and the Lanier LD-015spf has a full 192 MBs of RAM to help compensate for the additional tasks it can execute.

The Lanier LD-015’s paper storage capabilities come with no surprises, as its 250 sheet paper tray is standard issue. Its 100 sheet bypass tray is quite large, as is its 250 sheet output tray. If even more paper storage is required due to heavy output requirements, users can cash in on the benefits of a single additional 500 sheet storage bank.

With a copy speed of only 15 pages per minute, the Lanier LD-015 is significantly slower than most machines of any kind being released today, and is about three times as slow as copy machines in the same category as it. The machine’s first copy out time of 7.5 seconds is also considerably slower than the current competition, though it is surprisingly not quite as bad as it could have been considering there are still devices being released with similar first page out times.

The control panel on the Lanier LD-015 is another element of the unit that is behind the times. While 2012 copy machines pretty much exclusively rely on attractive, full color touch screens for navigation, this 2004 model utilizes the older, dedicated button style.

Lastly, the Lanier LD-015’s overall quality level is low at a mere 600 x 600 dots per inch which holds firm whether printing or copying. Without higher copy resolution, the device is not able to tackle detailed image replication without significant and noticable quality deterioration.
