LEXMARK C734 DRUM

Lexmark C734 has four color drum units. The device indicators will inform the user in several occasions to prepare and replace a drum unit.

To check the drum levels a user should perform the same procedure as for toner cartridges – check the Device Status or see the Supply/ Status menu on the LCD screen.

Lexmark C734 will inform the user several times that a drum unit has to be changed. LCD screen will display 88 <COLOR> drum unit nearly low or 88 <COLOR> drum unit low or 88 Replace <COLOR> drum unit message.
NOTE: <COLOR> stands for BLACK, CYAN, MAGENTA or YELLOW drum unit.

When a user receives first two messages he can prepare a drum unit or order new from his supplier. If an 88 Replace <COLOR> drum unit message is displayed on the LCD befor drum unit is replaced the print quality may decrease.

To replace a drum unit follow the same instructions as replacing a toner cartridge. Stand in front of the printer and open the front cover door. Set to the front cover is drum units assembly. Pick up the drum unit that has to be changed and dispose of it regarding local regulations.

Take out the new drum unit and place it in the place of the old one matching the tracks in the set. If you hear a click you’ve installed the drum unit correctly. Remove the red seal on top of the drum unit and close the front cover door.

If Lexmark C734 is at Ready state after you close the front cover door you have to reset the drum unit counter. You can do that by following the steps shown below:

To specify the replaced photoconductor, press the KEY button. The Supplies Menu will appear. Press OK and a Replace Supply message will appear, press OK.

Navigate with up or down arrow button until All, Cyan Drum, Magenta Drum, Yellow Drum, or Black Drum appears, depending on the drum unit you replaced. Press OK <COLOR> drum unit replaced and YES message will appear. Confirm and press OK.

To exit this menu press Back button until a Ready message is displayed on the screen.
NOTE: If you see 84 Replace <COLOR> photoconductor, 84 <COLOR> photoconductor nearly low, or 84 <COLOR> photoconductor low on the screen navigate with up or down arrows until you see Supply Replaced message, click OK. A Replaced <COLOR> message will appear on the screen, press OK button to confirm the replacement.
