When to Replace the Drum Unit in a Lexmark E238 Printer

Ways to check drum unit levels are the same as checking toner levels. Only difference is the LED light sequence. It will warn a user several occasions about different states of drum levels.

First warning a user may see is when Continue LED is on and Replace PC Kit’s is blinking. This means that it is recommended to change the drum unit or change it soon. Press Continue button to proceed with the print job.

Second warning is when Replace PC Kit is blinking. The user has to change the drum unit.

The third LED sequence that may appear is when Continue LED is on and Replace PC Kit and Error are blinking. The printer will stop printing and will not print until the drum unit is changed.

How to Replace the Drum Unit in a Lexmark E238 Printer

To replace the drum unit stand in front of Lexmark E238, push the button on the left side and release the front cover open. Take out the toner and drum assembly and place it on a flat surface. While pressing the release button under the toner cartridge pull it out using the handle.
NOTE: Dispose of the drum unit regarding local regulations.

Take out the new drum unit and install the toner cartridge using the same procedure as replacing the toner cartridge. Align white rollers with drum unit tracks and push until it clicks.

Install toner and drum assembly back in the printer. Set the green assembly arrows with tracks green arrows and push as far as it goes. Close the front cover.
