LEXMARK E352 TONER CARTRIDGE - HIGH YIELD

The average yield of the standard-capacity toner cartridge is approx. 3,500 standard pages. You can increase the maximal number of prints possible with one toner cartridge by decreasing the Toner Darkness and/or by activating Eco-Mode. One of the listed messages and print quality problems will appear when the installed toner cartridge reaches the end of its useful life.

· Insufficient contrast – You should disable the Eco-Mode, select a higher Toner Darkness setting, and then test the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer. Please replace the installed toner cartridge if print quality does not improve.

· Black streaks appear – The installed toner cartridge is probably leaking. You should replace the installed toner cartridge with a new one.

· The message [88 Toner low] is displayed – The installed toner cartridge is nearing end of life. You should order a new toner cartridge.

To install a new toner cartridge, you must switch the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer off, and then press the release button located on the left side of the machine to unlock the front door. Next, you must open the front door completely, and then unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by pressing the release button located on the front side of the drum unit. After that, you must remove the exhausted toner cartridge by pulling it gently towards you, and then remove the packing material from the new toner cartridge. Now, you must redistribute the toner by shaking the new cartridge in all directions, and then align the white rollers of the new component with the guides on the top side of the drum unit. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the new toner cartridge along the guides until it locks into place, and then close the front door. Finally, you must switch the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer back on, and then print ten pages.

You should replace the installed fuser assembly unit if:

· One of the listed error codes is displayed

You should switch the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer off, wait at least 10 minutes, and then switch the printer back on. You should also check the installed fuser assembly unit for correct installation and connection. Please replace the installed fuser assembly unit if any of the listed errors persists.

· Paper curls – You should activate the Reduced Curl feature ([Config. Menu] – [Reduced Curl]), and then test the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer. Please replace the installed fuser assembly unit if print quality does not improve.

· Toner on back of page – You should inspect the installed fuser assembly unit for signs of wear and contamination, and replace it if necessary.

· Vertical white and/or black lines – You should clean the paper path and the lens, and then replace the toner cartridge. Please replace the installed fuser assembly unit if print quality does not improve.

· Toner is not being fused to the paper

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the paper tray from the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer, and then open the front cover and the rear door. Next, you must remove the screw from the rear side of the left side cover, and then release the latches of the cover. After that, you must swing the left side cover open, and then remove it by lifting its top rear part over the pivot point. Now, you must release the latches of the right side cover, and then swing the cover open. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the right side cover by lifting its top rear portion over the pivot point, and then remove the screws securing the rear cover to the printer frame. After that, you must remove the rear cover by unhooking it from the frame, and then remove the screw that is located above the reverse solenoid in order to loosen the top cover of the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer. Next, you must release the side latches of the top cover, and then remove the paper exit-guide assembly from the machine. Once the paper exit-guide assembly is removed, you must remove the two mounting screws from the exhausted fuser assembly unit, and then remove the screw that secures the ground cable. Now, you must disconnect the thermistor cable, remove the controller card cover, and then unplug the exit sensor cable from the controller card. In the next step, you must disconnect the fuser power cable, and then remove the exhausted fuser assembly unit from the laser printer. Finally, you must unpack the new fuser assembly unit, and then install it by executing the current procedure in reverse order.

The operator panel of your Lexmark E352 Laser Printer consists of a two-line LCD, an indicator LED, and six buttons, which are used for scrolling through a list of values, changing printer settings, responding to system messages, etc… You should replace the operator panel if:

· The two-line LCD does not come on – You must ensure that the cable of the installed operator panel is properly connected to the controller card (at J3). Please replace the installed operator panel if the problem persists.

· The buttons of the installed operator panel do not respond/function – The switches of the corresponding buttons are defective. You have to install a new operator panel.

You must make sure that the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer is switched off, and then open the front cover. Next, you must remove the two screws from the shield, and then remove the shield by sliding it to the right. After that, you must release the four inner latches, and then remove the bezel together with the lens from the laser printer. Now, you must remove the mounting screw from the operator panel, and then remove the faceplate by unlatching its tabs. Once the faceplate is removed, you must close the front cover, and then unplug the connector from the right side of the operator panel. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must release the four latches of the panel cover, and then pull the panel cover out of its retainers. Finally, you must remove the operator panel from the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer, and then install the replacement component by executing the current procedure in reverse order.

You should replace the transfer roller installed in your Lexmark E352 Laser Printer if:

· Image density is uneven – You should try to improve print quality by replacing the drum unit. Please replace the installed transfer roller if image density remains uneven.

· Insufficient image density – The installed toner cartridge and/or drum unit are/is probably nearing end of life. Thus, you should replace the toner cartridge and the drum unit, and then test the Lexmark E352 Laser Printer. Please replace the installed transfer roller if print quality does not improve.

· Toner on back of page – You should replace the drum unit and the fuser assembly unit. After that, you should print ten test pages and evaluate their quality. Please replace the installed transfer roller if the output print quality is unsatisfactory.
