Replacing the Color Toner Cartridges in a Konica Minolta MagiColor 2500W Printer

This machine do not have display on which would appear a message when your toner level is running low. There are only small indicators. When your toner cartridge is empty one of them the TONER indicator will light up. There is such indicator for every one of the four cartridges- Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Look which indicator is lightened and then press the ROTATE TONER key to select same cartridge. When cartridges are rotating inside the machine none of the indicators will be lightened up but when the empty cartridge is in place for replacing it will light again.

On the top of the machine there is a small lever and you have to pull it to open the top cover of your printer. If the cartridge that is standing in front is the empty one, from the indicator alarm, open the front cover of the printer, if it’s not close everything and press the ROTATE TONER key again. On the cartridge there is a small handle which locks it in. Pull it toward you and then take the cartridge out of the machine. Prepare the new cartridge (of the same color as the empty one). Remove any packs and covers. Shake it a little bit. Then lie it down in the empty space where was the empty one standing. When it is properly aligned it will snap inside and lock itself. When it is done close the front and then the top covers of the printer. This type of machines, have a calibration process. When you replace the cartridge and put everything back on its place the machine will perform this process.

Overview:

The Konica Minolta Magicolor 2500W is affordable and offers decent features. However the quality of its output is lacking. It is easy to set up and use. Plus if you are looking for reliability the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2500W is an outstanding choice. It will get you through thick and thin.

Pros:

Looking for a home printer, then the Konica Minolta Magic Color 2500W is a good choice. Though, it is a little big if you don’t have a lot of extra space in your home. It only weights 42.8 pounds which, is relatively light for a color laser so you won’t have too much trouble if you have to move it into place yourself.
Best of all the Konica Minolta Magic Color 2500W is easy to set up. There are no packing materials to remove from the toner cartridges, so you don't even have to take them out of the printer and put them back in. Just place the toner cartridges in and run the installation program and you are ready to go. Don’t forget to connect the USB cable to the printer and your computer.
The 2500W can produce 20 pages per minute when printing black and white copies and 5ppm in color. These speeds are good when considering the price of the Konica Minolta Magic Color 2500W.

Cons:

Print quality is only good enough for home use or for printing internal documents. Text produced with the Konica Minolta 2500w is not very good. It is difficult to read characters that are in 4 point fonts. There's a slight lack of crispness to the edges of characters. Practically speaking, the Konica Minolta 2500w can handle prints for personal use or internal business you, but lacks the professional quality you need for business documents.
Graphics and photos are also good enough for internal use. The biggest problem is dithering (patterns in what should be solid blocks of color), posterization, and a loss of thin lines. Actually colors are not vivid and clear.
Photos produced with it tend to suffer from oversaturated colors. In one trial apples in one photo, were unrealistically red. Overall, the quality is good enough for producing photos to put on the office bulletin board or kitchen refrigerator.
