This Toner Cartridge prints 8000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Samsung specification)

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer?

You can check the condition of the installed toner cartridge from the Smart Panel program, or by selecting [System Setup] – [Maintenance] – [Supplies Life]. You should replace the installed toner cartridge when any of the listed indications, messages, and print quality problems appears.

The red [Status] LED blinks

[Install Toner] is displayed – Your Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer does not detect an installed toner cartridge. You must make sure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly. Please install a new toner cartridge if the laser printer still does not detect the installed one.

[Invalid Toner] – You have installed a toner cartridge that is not designed for use in your Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer. Please install a new compatible toner cartridge.

[Non Genuine Toner] – You have installed a compatible, non-OEM toner cartridge. You can keep printing with the non-OEM product by selecting [Continue].

[Toner Low <> Replace Toner] – The installed toner cartridge is nearly empty. Please be aware that a nearly empty toner cartridge can cause various print quality problems. Therefore, you should install a new toner cartridge.

[Replace Toner] – The installed toner cartridge is empty. Please install a new toner cartridge.

[Toner Exhausted] – The components of the installed toner cartridge are at the end of their useful life. Please install a new toner cartridge.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer

You must start the replacement procedure by opening the front cover of your Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer. After that, you must pull the used toner cartridge slowly towards you to remove it from the laser printer, and then remove the plastic bag from the new toner cartridge. Now, you must remove the packing tape, and then redistribute the toner by shaking the new component seven-eight times up and down. Please do not touch the green underside of the new toner cartridge. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the new toner cartridge along the guides of the slot until it clicks into place, and then close the front cover of your Samsung ML-3051 Monochrome Laser Printer.

Overview:

The Samsung ML-3051 is affordable and provides medium sized offices with quality printing. Printing is affordable thanks to high yield cartridges that produce 8,000 pages. Plus it offers built-in networking.

Pros:

If space is limited in your office the Samsung ML-3051 is an outstanding option. It measures 10.5 inches x 15 inches x 16 inches (HWD). Replacing toner cartridges is never a problem with the ML-3051. Plus high-yield toner cartridges yield 8,000 pages.
The ML-3051 has a one touch toner save mode which can be accessed through software or from the clearly labeled button on its front panel. This will cut down on the amount of toner used. You will see some loss of quality, but not much.
Output is of professional quality with the Samsung ML-3051. Text documents are sharp and show no signs of feathering. Considering how affordable the printer is, the quality is outstanding.

Samsung claims that this printer will print 30 pages per minute. However, when testing it the ML-3051 only produced 19 pages per minute.

Overall, the Samsung ML-3051 is an outstanding buy. It is easy to setup and offers outstanding print quality, combined with low operating costs, make it one of the best bargains around.

Cons:

One shortcoming of the ML-3051 is that image quality is substandard. Images show signs of dithering and colors are distorted. Furthermore there are too many maintenance issues with the ML-3051.
