This Toner Cartridge prints 30000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Ricoh specification)

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 Laser Printer?

The built-in system of your Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 Laser Printer will display one of the described below messages, when a toner cartridge related abnormality occurs. Please follow the instructions given after each message.

• ‘’Toner Cartridge is almost empty’’ – This warning message will be displayed on the control LCD, when there is less than 2% remaining toner in the installed toner cartridge. The purpose of this message is to notify you before the complete exhaustion of the installed toner cartridge, so you can purchase/prepare a new toner cartridge on time.

• ‘’Replace Toner Cartridge’’ – This error message indicates a non-operational mode caused by a completely exhausted toner cartridge. You have to install the prepared toner cartridge, in order to restore the normal functionality of your laser device.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 Laser Printer

Initially, you must open the front cover of your Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 Laser Printer. Then, you must unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by turning the green lever of the toner cartridge holder about 90degrees counterclockwise. After that, you must push down the lock release lever of the toner cartridge slot (this lock release lever is located below the lever of the holder), and then pull the toner cartridge holder gently towards you until it stops. Now, you must push the exhausted toner cartridge towards the main unit and raise its front side. In the next step, you must pull the exhausted toner cartridge out of the holder, and then take the new toner cartridge out of the transport packaging. Once the new toner cartridge is unpacked, you must shake it 8-10 times horizontally, and then remove its outer cap. Please do not remove the inner cap of the new toner cartridge. At this stage of the installation, you must insert the prepared new toner cartridge into the toner cartridge holder, and then push the holder towards the printer until the lock release lever of the slot clicks. Finally, you must turn the lever of the toner cartridge holder about 90degrees clockwise (to the marked ‘’locked’’ position), and then close the front cover of your Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 Laser Printer.

Overview:

The Ricoh Aficio MP5000 offers fast printing as well as quality output. It can produce 50 prints per minute and can be expanded to meet your ever changing printing needs. One advantage of the MP5000 is that it only needs 3.5 seconds to warm up.

Pros:

With the Aficio MP5000 you get excellent productivity at 50 pages per minute. Plus you get a 100-sheet Automatic Reversing Document Feeder that efficiently handles multi-page and double-sided originals. Paper handling is never a problem thanks to a 1,200-sheet paper capacity that can be expanded to 4,400 sheets with optional paper trays.
Another great feature is its professional finishing options. They include 2- or 3-hole punching, multiple finisher options, and saddle-stitch booklet making. It comes with Embedded Software Architecture, a Java (J2ME) compatible software development platform.
Output quality is outstanding. Text prints are of outstanding quality. Text can be easily read at 4 point fonts. There are no signs of feathering.

Cons:

One drawback of the Ricoh Aficio MP5000 is that it only offers 600 X 600 dpi resolution printing. Additionally it lacks the ability to print in color.
