Canon PIXMA MG5220 Review
Canon advanced their printer lines with the multifunctional Canon PIXMA MG5220 series. It is an ink-jet all-in-one photo printer that has a robust, compact design. There is a combination of features that make this series well-rounded and fit for a SoHo lifestyle. With excellent resolution and a 5-ink system, this printer will be your office-mate that will utilize is wide-range of features for your needs.
The printer takes its time in ensuring that you get 10 images per minute in Black and 9.3 images per minute in Color. It takes roughly 20 seconds in printing a 4 x 6 borderless photo. The print resolution for Color goes up to 9600 x 2400 dots per inch, and Black resolution only goes up to 600 x 600 dots per inch. Allowable paper sizes for the printer is ranged between U.S. #10 Envelopes, Legal, Letter, 8 x 10, 5 x 7, and 4 x 6. A large array of paper-types will work good with the printer. The printer should have no problem in printing the common medias like Matte, U.S. Envelope, Semi-Gloss, Plus Semi-Gloss, Glossy, Super High-Gloss, and Plain types.
The printer does not facilitate an automatic document feeder. One has to manually insert paper. While the printer is multifunctional, it is not appropriate for high-volume production of prints. The printer is limited in network-ability. It does incorporate scan, but it is quite basic. The reason a four-star rating, instead of 5-star, was given to the printer, a large-quantity of ink is relatively expensive to buy. Of course, this relies on the owners volume of printing habits |
