Lexmark C782DN Laser Printer Review
The Lexmark C782DN Laser Printer has dropped in recent years to about half of its original launch price, making it a respectable bargain for those looking to add very fast color laser print capabilities to a small office. The device’s built in duplexing and network card make it the perfect versatile unit for sharing, giving an entire network access to low cost per page, two sided color printing.
With maximum print speeds of up to 35 pages per minute in full color and 40 pages per minute in black and white, the Lexmark C782DN Laser Printer outperforms almost all low end laser printers. While it falls behind the more current high speed, industrial business printers on the market, it is still respectably fast for a color printer.
Through no fault of its own, the Lexmark C782DN Laser Printer has simply become dated. Having been released at the top of the line in 2007, the unit has since been surpassed in many ways by much cheaper color laser print hardware. As the cost of color laser printing rapidly drops and the demand for it thus increases, devices such as this end up caught in the middle, so to speak, of two very different eras of color laser printing. Today, print speeds that at least approach the C782’s 35 pages per minute can be bought brand new for half the price, though they will not match the device’s robust duty cycle or paper storage capacities. The unit itself also physically shows its age with its enormous size and weight. With dimensions of 20.8 by 23.8 by 18.5 inches (H x W x D) this hefty color printer sticks out like a sore thumb. |
