Ricoh Aficio CL7000 Printer Review

Overview:

The Ricoh Aficio CL7000 is an outstanding printer. Its fast speeds and flexibility make it easy to recommend, but it will require a lot of space in your office.

Pros:

The Ricoh Aficio CL7000 is large and weighs 187 pounds. Luckily it offers a lot for the price. Standard paper capacity is 1,100 sheets and is divided into two 500 sheet trays and one 100 sheet tray. Additional trays can be added to expanded paper capacity. The Ricoh Aficio CL7000 comes with 64MB of RAM which can be expanded to 384MB.


This unit can support many different types of media such as card stock, recycled paper, regular paper, and transparencies. It can be connected to your computer using a parallel port and Ethernet port. However it does lack a USB port.


Color toner cartridges can yield around 10,000 pages and black cartridges yield around 20,000 pages. The Ricoh CL7000 toner cartridges are accessed from a front panel, and won’t require a lot of effort to change.

Output quality is outstanding. Text is easily readable at smaller fonts. Color graphics and photos from the printer are excellent, with very few noticeable flaws. Print speeds are fast. It produces monochrome prints at a rate of 38 pages per minute and for color 28 pages per minute.

Cons:

A drawback of the Ricoh Aficio CL7000 is that it is not compact. As a result it is not the ideal printer for offices with limited space. This printer also tends to jam which can be quite allowing.
