Samsung ML-2525 Review
The incredibly low priced Samsung ML-2525 is similar in almost every way to the sister models in this Samsung series, the ML-1910 and ML-1915, with one key improvement. Though this unit costs only a few dollars more than the lower powered units in the product line, the 2525 comes complete with a critical 5 page per minute boost in speed. While slow print speed was the major unforgivable flaw in the lower end models, this version affectively remedies the problem, resulting in a well rounded device perfect for desktop laser printing at low cost.
The Samsung ML-2525 also receives a slight improvement in the hardware’s first page out time; dropping from 10 seconds down to 9 seconds, which may not seem like much but a full second is actually fairly significant when it comes to this specification. As far as standard print speeds go, the unit tops out at 24 pages per minute for both letter and A4 sized paper. This is a great improvement over the 1910 and 1915’s mere 18 page per minute A4 speed and 19 page per minute letter sized speed.
Though the Samsung ML-2525 is a perfectly capable monochrome laser printer, it is a fairly stripped down unit. Even with its at least respectable print speed and innovative dedicated Print Screen button, the device is not versatile. Users looking for a unit that can do more than simple black and white document printing should quickly avert their attention elsewhere. That being said, if high volume desktop document printing is what you’re looking for, the Samsung ML-2525 is, more or less, the perfect printer. |
