SHARP AL-1641CS TONER CARTRIDGE

The Sharp AL-1641CS does not come with a toner cartridge pre-installed so users must install the starter cartridge themselves. A similar procedure must be repeated every time the toner in the cartridge runs out.

When cartridges run low, the machine will let users know by lighting its toner indicator light. Eventually, copies will become lighter and the indicator light will begin to blink. At this point, the toner cartridge must be changed.

To replace a toner cartridge, the bypass tray must be opened so that the side cover can also be opened. There is a button marked OPEN on the side of the unit that must be pressed for this to happen. The front cover can then be opened by pushing in on the sides of the cover.

With the toner cartridge in sight, press the lock release button on it and pull it out of the machine. Old cartridges should never be shaken or tipped vertically because they may still have toner inside that can stain clothing.

Before installing a new toner cartridge, it must be thoroughly shaken from side to side and have its protective cover pulled off. It can then be slid into the machine and locked into place by pressing the lock button. Close the front cover, the side cover, and the bypass tray IN THAT ORDER and the unit will become operational; the indicator lights going off.
