Initially, you must make sure that the HP Fax 1240 Fax Machine is on, and then open the door of the ink cartridge compartment. After that, you must wait until the carriage stops moving, and then unlock the exhausted ink cartridge by pushing it down. Now, you must pull the exhausted ink cartridge out of the carriage, and then unpack the replacement ink cartridge. Please make sure that the color of the new ink cartridge matches the color of the removed one. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the protective tape from the contact area of the new ink cartridge, and then align the new component with the empty slot so that the label is on top. Once the new ink cartridge is correctly aligned, you must slide it into the slot at a slight angle, and then push it towards the slot until it locks into place. Finally, you must close the cover of the ink cartridge compartment, and then press the [OK] button to start the alignment procedure.
