When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the Epson Stylus Color 980

You can check the status of the installed ink cartridges from the driver properties window. An installed ink cartridge should be replaced if:

� An [Ink Out] indicator flashes

� An [Ink Out] indicator is steadily lit

� An installed ink cartridge has expired

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the Epson Stylus Color 980

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must make sure that the Epson Stylus Color 980 is in a Stand-by mode (switched on but not printing), and then hold the [Cleaning] button for about 4 seconds. Once the printhead stops moving, you must unpack the new ink cartridge, and then detach the yellow tape from the new component. Now, you must open the printer cover, raise the clamp of the exhausted ink cartridge, and then remove the exhausted component. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the new ink cartridge into the empty slot, and then push the clamp down until it locks into place. Finally, you must press the [Cleaning] button, and then close the printer cover.
