You can check the status of the ink cartridges installed in your HP Photosmart C6250 All-in-One Printer from the [Ink delivery system] section of the self-test report, and/or by selecting [Setup] – [Tools] – [Display Ink Gauge]. One of the listed indications will appear if an installed ink cartridge needs replacing.
· A question mark is displayed over an [Ink Level] icon – The corresponding ink cartridge is incompatible. Please replace the indicated ink cartridge with a new, compatible one.
· An exclamation mark has appeared over an [Ink Level] icon – The corresponding ink cartridge is nearing end of life. Please make sure that you have a replacement ink cartridge set in stock.
· You are experiencing repetitive print quality problems
· The message [Incompatible ink cartridge(s)] is displayed
· The message [The following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced] is displayed

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the HP Photosmart C6250 All-in-One Printer
In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must switch your HP Photosmart C6250 All-in-One Printer on, and then open the main cover. After that, you must release and raise the latch of the slot where the exhausted ink cartridge is installed, and then remove the exhausted ink cartridge by pulling it towards you. Now, you must unpack the new ink cartridge, and then insert it into the empty slot. Finally, you must close and secure the latch of the slot, and then close the main cover of your HP Photosmart C6250 All-in-One Printer.
