Canon PIXMA iP6000D Review
Canon have finally stepped up their game, as far as technology goes, in creating the Canon PIXMA iP6000D printer. The Canon PIXMA iP6000D does not use 4 or 5 ink cartridge colors, but 6! This printer is a powerful tool that lets users take advantage of the Easy-PhotoPrint software by enabling them to fix, enhance, and sharpen their images. Everyone can agree that the Canon PIXMA iP6000D has been a long time coming. The isolated image printer device is suitable for homes, offices, students, and photographic artists.
The 2.5 LCD, a much anticipated device, enables users to view, edit and print their photos. This is a great step-up from the simple on/off buttons found in the previous PIXMA iP series. Individuals now have the capabilities to print directly from their DV camcorders, mobile phones, and digital cameras via the PictBridge. That is not all, the lack of memory cards in the predecessors has now been rectified. Users can now utilize the memory card slots for devices that do not have PictBridge enabled on them. If the devices do have PictBridge, then it's a matter of preference only. Infrared mobile phones can print photos via wireless from their printer. The resolution for Black is 4800 x 1200 dots per inch, which is a great improvement from the previous 600 x 600 dots per inch utilize in older models. Color resolution is 4800 x 1200 dots per inch. There is an apparent balance between the resolution for Black and Color documents. The reduction of color resolution is offset by the new photo inks developed by Canon. Paper sizes compatible with the printer are U.S. #10 or European Envelopes, Wallet-sized, Letter, Credit Card (2.13 x 3.39), Letter, 5 x 7, and 4 x 6s. The printer operates quietly behind the scenes at 35 decibels and 56 Kilo Bytes of Buffer RAM. The size of the printer at 16.9 inches in width, 7.7 inches in height, 12.3 inches in depth, and 15.9 pounds should provide no issues in placement of the printer. There is a dual paper path that utilizes duplex printing features for 2-sided prints. With the anticipated memory card slots long desire by consumers, it can take various memory cards like miniSD, Stick DUO PRO, Memory Stick DUO, xD-Picture, Secure Digital, MultiMedia, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick®, SmartMedia®, Microdrive®, and Compact Flash®. The miniSD Card StickDUO PRO can be utilized on the printer with special adapters.
The resolution of 4800 x 1200 is a significant reduction from the previous models that had a maximum 9600 x 2400 dots per inch. It takes 75 seconds to print a 4 x 6 borderless photo. This is a significant reduction is speed-rate as the older models took roughly 30 seconds to print 4 x 6 borderless photos. Which is pretty sad, because the print-rate was determined based on the maximum print speed. If the resolution from previous models were to be retained in this model, in lieu of its photo inks, this printer would be a formidable opponent in the market. Ink droplets are not as low as 1 picoliter, anymore. Would like to see Canon implement the same hardware with 9600 x 2400 dots per inch resolution in Black and Color both. If the printer could make ink droplets as small as 1 picoliter and increase the speeds of photo printer, the printer would be well-rounded. Instead, it takes over a minute for small photos and over 3 minutes for 8 x 10s. If you are not too interested in speed-efficiency, than this is the printer for you. The number of nozzles has been dramatically reduced to 256 x 6 colors. Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black/Photo Cyan/Photo Magenta, which totals 1,536 nozzles. Most of the older models facilitated at a minimum of 3,000 nozzles divided amongst the colors. Thereby, the quality of photos may be abridged. |
