Product Manuals
When do I Replace a Developer in the Sharp AR-M160 Laser Printer?
400 grams (a standard developer package) of developer are enough for approx. 500,000 prints/copies (10 replacement procedures). You should add new developer into the installed developer cartridge once every 50,000 prints/copies, in order to be maintained optimal print quality. Please note that your Sharp AR-M160 Laser Printer is equipped with a [Developer Life] indicator. The monitoring system of the laser printer will turn on the [Developer Life] indicator when the developer counter reaches 50,000 print/copies. You should add new developer soon after the initial appearance of the described indication. Please note that the life of a packed (unopened) bag of developer is 24 months from the production date. The complete replacement procedure is included below.
How to Install a Developer in the Sharp AR-M160 Laser Printer
Initially, you must make sure that the laser printer is turned off, and then open the manual tray. After that, you must open the side cover of your Sharp AR-M160 Laser Printer, and then open the front cover by pulling its upper section gently towards you. Next, you must remove the toner cartridge from the main unit, and then loosen the screw that fixes the developer cartridge to the printer chassis. Now, you must hold the handle of the developer cartridge and pull it straight towards you to remove the developer cartridge from the laser printer. Please place the developer cartridge on a flat, leveled surface. At this stage of the replacement procedure, you must remove the two screws from the top side of the developer tank, and then detach the developer tank from the developer cartridge. Once the developer tank is detached, you must remove the old developer completely, and then supply new developer into the developer tank while rotating the magnetic roller in a clockwise direction. Please make sure that the DV seal is free from developing agent. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must attach the developer tank to the developer cartridge, and then use the two screws to fix it into place. After that, you must insert the developer cartridge into the laser printer completely, taking care not to tilt or shake the cartridge, and then use the screw to fix the component to the printer chassis. Now, you must reinstall the toner cartridge, and then close all printer covers. Finally, you must turn on the laser printer, and then reset the EEPROM developer counter by executing the short procedure included below.
