When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the Canon FAX JX210P?

Your Canon FAX JX210P is equipped with a built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the ink level of the installed ink cartridge. The main purpose of the constant ink cartridge monitoring is any occurred abnormalities to be detected as soon as possible, in order to be avoided non-operational print/copy modes, and resp. interruptions of your work. Therefore, the built-in monitoring system will display the following warning message ''RECOMMEND NEW CRT'', once a low ink level is detected. You should install a new ink cartridge soon after the initial appearance of this advance notification. Otherwise, the remaining ink will be consumed, which will lead to the disabling of all print operations. The non-operational print mode will be indicated with the displaying of the following error message ''NO INK'' on the control display of your FAX JX210P. Please note that the machine will still receive faxes, but it will store them into the internal memory, until a new ink cartridge is installed. Please also note that the installed ink cartridge should be replaced, if the following message ''INK VOL UNKNOWN'' is reappearing on the control LCD. It is always better, if you keep a spare ink cartridge for your Canon FAX JX210P in stock, but please remember to store all consumable components in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the Canon FAX JX210P

Initially, you must make sure that your Canon FAX JX210P is in ''stand-by'' mode, and then open the top cover until it locks in ''upper''/''opened'' position. After that, you must unlock the exhausted ink cartridge by gently pushing it down, and then remove it from the fax machine by pulling carefully towards you. Please be aware that you should avoid shaking the exhausted ink cartridge. Now, you must take the new ink cartridge out of the protective transport packaging, and then remove its protective tape, but please avoid touching the contact area of the new toner cartridge and also avoid shaking the cartridge. Once the new ink cartridge is prepared, you must insert it into the main unit until it clicks into place, and then load paper in the rear tray. Finally, you must close the top cover and test your Canon FAX JX210P.

Overview:

There are times when it’s useful to have a multi-function, everything-in-one printer. And there are times when all you need is just a simple fax machine. Designed for personal desktop use, the Canon FAX-JX210P uses inkjet technology for receiving faxes can send 10 monochrome faxes per minute. The JX210P comes with an automatic document feeder, fax storage to memory, and a handset allows for the fax to double as a telephone.

Pros:

Canon’s 9-pound fax machine has a 15.8” x 10.6” footprint, with a low 7-inch height for placement on shelves or on a desk. The 20-sheet Automatic Document feature (ADF) only adds a few inches to the unit s overall height. The concealed paper tray can carry up to 100 sheets of paper, Letter, A4, and Legal sizes only

Using a 14.4Kbps modem, the fax function can send up to 10 pages per minute. Fax resolutions can be set from the Standard to Fine, to Photo resolutions. If it’s low on ink, the JX210P will switch to memory to save up to 60 incoming faxes.

In addition to a 9-digit keypad for manual dialing, the JX210P’s control panel has nine one-touch keys allow for speed dialing. Up to 69 numbers can be stored or retrieved using a 2-digit code. Menu features are controlled through four navigation buttons that are below the dot matrix LCD display.

The JX210P is also a basic multi-function printer, copy machine, and telephone. Up to 99 1:1 copies can be produced with 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Connecting to a printer via the USB 2.0 port, the FAX-JX210P prints 10 pages per minute at 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Canon does not offer PCL or PostScript emulation with the FAX-JX210P.

Cons:

Overall, in spite of it supporting hi-speed USB 2.0 for printing, the remaining technology used for the JX210P is outdated, making for a slow machine with very limited storage for numbers and faxes. Since the FAX-JX210P has no battery backup, any faxes stored in memory will be lost if there is a power outage. Lastly, there is no security or password protection for the FAX-JX210P.
