CANON IMAGEPROGRAF IPF610 BLACK OEM INK CARTRIDGE (ML YIELD)

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF610 features a highly sophisticated built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the status of the installed four ink cartridges. The built-in system will notify by a special warning or error message displayed on the control LCD of your iPF610, when an ink cartridge related abnormality has been detected. There are several warning and error messages for indication of an ink cartridge/cartridges related abnormalities. These messages are listed and described below.

Warning Messages/Advance Notifications

''Ink Level: Check'' – The installed ink cartridge/cartridges of the indicated color is/are nearly empty. You should replace all indicated nearly exhausted ink cartridge soon after the initial appearance of this advance notification. Otherwise, the indicated ink cartridges will be completely exhausted/emptied very soon, which will lead to a non-operational printer's mode. Please note that you won't be able to complete your current task or to print/copy new documents during the non-operational printer's mode.

''Ink insufficient'' – The ink cartridges indicated in this message are more than 99% exhausted, and the remaining ink may not be enough for the completion of the current printing task/job. The recommended action is a prompt replacement of all indicated ink cartridges.

''Remaining level of the ink cannot be correctly detected'' – You should install a new ink cartridge from the indicated color soon after the initial appearance of this warning message, because the built-in system won't be able to detect a low ink level, which could lead to a non-operational printer's mode at some point.

Error Messages/Non-operational mode indications

''No ink tank loaded'' – This error message normally indicates an incorrect ink cartridge/cartridges installation. You must reinstall the indicated problematic ink cartridges, and if the message is still displayed, you will have to replace all of the indicated problematic ink cartridges, in order to be restored the normal/full functionality of your ink-jet device.

''Ink tank is empty'' – An ink cartridge or several ink cartridges has/have been completely exhausted/emptied. You must install a new ink cartridge/cartridges of the indicated color/colors, in order to be restored the normal printer's mode/functionality.

''Ink tank error'' – One or several of the installed ink cartridges are incompatible or damaged. You must replace all of the indicated ink cartridges.

Initially, you must make sure that your Canon imagePROGRAF iPF610 is in ''stand-by'' or ''off-line'' mode (Check the indication on the LCD). Then, you will have to perform the short initialization procedure/process, which is included below, but only if you are replacing an ink cartridge/cartridges when there is no indication (warning or error message) displayed on the control LCD of your ink-jet device. In case that you are replacing an ink cartridge/cartridges after a warning or an error message has been displayed on the LCD, then you will have to skip the initialization process included below and proceed directly from the marked with ''!'' portion of the current ink cartridge replacement procedure.

Ink Cartridge Replacement-Initialization Procedure/Process

1. Make sure that there are no error or warning messages displayed on the control LCD.
2. Press the [Menu] button.
3. Select [Rep. Ink Tank] by pressing the [^] several times, and then press [>].
4. Select [Yes] by pressing the [^] several times, and then press [OK].
5. Proceed with the next step of the ink cartridge replacement procedure.

! (Press [OK] and start from here, if there is a warning or an error message displayed) You must open the ink tank cover (on the top-left side of your printer), locate the exhausted ink cartridge/cartridges, and then open its/their protective plastic cover/covers. After that, you must take the exhausted ink cartridge out of the main unit by pulling the cartridge upwards, and then press the [OK] button. Now, you must shake the new ink cartridge at least 8-10 times from side to side, and then take it out of the protective packaging. Please be aware that you must avoid touching the contact area of the new ink cartridge. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must press the [OK] button, and then insert the prepared new ink cartridge into the appropriate slot (regarding ink color) of the printer. Once the new ink cartridge is inserted, you must close the protective plastic cover of the slot until it clicks in ''locked'' position, and then make sure that the ink lamp is lit in red (located on the top side of the ink cartridge's slot). Finally, you must close the ink tank cover, and wait for the automatic new ink cartridge initialization procedure to be completed.
