Canon PIXMA MG3120 Printer Review

Overview:

The Canon Pixma MG3120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One is one of the least-expensive color inkjet printers on the market. Print speeds are outstanding and output quality is above average.

Pros:

The Pixma MG3120 is easy to set up. It doesn’t come with an LCD so you will have to use the USB connection to set it up. The control panel is very intuitive and its two-digit LED shows copy quantity and messages. With the printer you get clearly labeled buttons and LED indicator lights for copying, scanning, and maintenance tasks.
It is hard to believe how good the output quality is for the price. Photos on Canon's own paper are outstanding, even though you will see an orange tint. On normal paper, color graphics are reasonably accurate, and text is clear and crisp.
Print speeds for this printer are 6 pages a minute on plain paper and 5.85 when using a Mac. Snapshot-size photos will take 2.4 ppm on plain paper and 1.2 ppm on glossy paper.

Cons:

The main drawback of the Canon Pixma MG3120 is the cost of black ink. Printing black and white copies will cost around 7 cents per page. This is really expensive for monochrome copies. You'll need to visit the store fairly soon after purchasing it to get another toner cartridge. The Pixma MG3120 ships with 180-page starter cartridges that won’t even last most people a week.
Despite what this printer has to offer in some areas, its high ink prices make it difficult to recommend. Make sure you check out other printers on the market before purchasing this one. It could be a mistake that you will regret.
