Canon PIXMA MX420 Printer Review

Overview:

Canon's PIXMA MX420 is an outstanding option for your mid-sized office. Even though its paper handling capacities don’t match larger printers, it offers outstanding printing that is quick. It also does an excellent job of printing photos and plain paper documents. However it is expensive to run which reduces its overall value.

Pros:

The Pixma MX420 is an all in one machine with a 30 sheet automatic document feeder. Its control panel has a large, 62mm LCD screen and well laid out controls. It comes with sockets for USB and 10/100 Ethernet. A wireless connection is also available.

Print quality with the Pixma MX420 is outstanding. Black text are sharp and you won’t see spatter which you may find with other printers. Color prints with this printer are without banding, though the colors are not quite as vibrant as one might hope for.

Photos don’t show any signs of visible fill patterns and have outstanding color rendition. Details are clear in light and dark areas of the image.

Toner cartridges for the Pixma MX420 are affordable and lower you overall printing cost. With this printer you will get great prints at affordable prices.

Cons:

Print speeds for the PIXMA MX420 ring in at only 8.7 pages in black and white and 5 ppm for color. Furthermore it takes a long time for this printer to warm up. That is a major drawback if you commonly need to print a few documents before an early morning meeting.
