The four toner cartridges installed in your HP Color LaserJet 2600 Printer are consumable components. The lifespan of each installed toner cartridge is approx. 2500 prints at 5% page coverage. You can check the current toner levels from the four cartridge indicators (gauges) on the control panel. Please note that you will see a ‘’?’’ instead of a toner gauge, if a toner cartridge abnormality has been detected. You can obtain detailed status information about the installed toner cartridges by printing a supplies status page, which can be selected from the [Reports] menu of the control panel.
You must replace an installed toner cartridge(s), if any of the listed error messages and print quality issues is continuously reappearing.

• ‘’10.000x Supply error’’ – The built-in system has detected a hardware error with a component of the indicated toner cartridge. You should try to resolve the issue by reinstalling the toner cartridges and restarting the laser printer. The indicated toner cartridge will have to be replaced, if the error message continues to appear on the control panel.

• ‘’Replace supplies’’ – One or more toner cartridges are near the end of their useful life. You must install new toner cartridges of the indicated colors soon, in order to be avoided print quality issues caused by insufficient toner levels.

• ‘’Unauthorized <Color>’’ – The indicated toner cartridge is a non-OEM product. You should press the [Select] button to continue printing.

• Light or faded prints

• Vertical streaks or bands

• Background toner shading

• Marks appearing on even intervals

• Missing or inaccurate colors

Initially, you must open the front door of your HP Color LaserJet 2600 Printer, and then remove the empty toner cartridge by pulling it towards you. Please avoid touching the transfer belt, which is located on the inside of the front door. In the next step, you must unpack the new toner cartridge, but please make sure that the color matches, and then shake the cartridge 7-8 times vertically to loosen and evenly distribute the toner. After that, you must remove the shipping tape and the orange shipping locks from the new toner cartridge. Now, you must slide the new toner cartridge along the guides of the corresponding slot until it is firmly inserted. Finally, you must close the front door, make sure that ‘’Ready’’ is displayed on the control panel, and then test your HP Color LaserJet 2600 Printer.
