BROTHER HL-6050DTN OEM TONER CARTRIDGE

Your Brother HL-6050 Laser Printer is equipped with a sophisticated built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the status of all consumables. Because the toner cartridge is also a consumable component, its status is also monitored by the system, and you will see an appropriate warning message, once an abnormality is detected. There are two warning messages, which are indicating an abnormality in the current toner level:

1. [TONER LOW] – This message indicates a nearly empty toner cartridge. The purpose of the message is to give you enough time for a new toner cartridge purchase. Herein, you should purchase a new toner cartridge for your HL-6050 Laser Printer soon after the initial appearance of this warning message. Please note that the [TONER LOW] warning message will be appearing at intervals on the LED.

2. [TONER LIFE END] – This is an error message, and it indicates a non-operational mode, which means that you won't be able to print new documents. The only available action is a replacement of the completely exhausted toner cartridge.

In order to avoid interruptions of your work, you should always keep a new toner cartridge for your laser printer in stock, but remember to store it in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations/instructions.

In order to install a new toner cartridge in your Brother HL-6050 Laser Printer, you must open the front cover of the printer and locate the drum assembly (the exhausted toner cartridge+the drum unit). Then, you must hold the front side of the drum assembly and pull slowly towards you, in order to take the drum assembly out of the laser printer. Once the drum assembly is out, you must detach the exhausted toner cartridge from the drum unit by pushing down the blue lock lever (on the right side of the drum unit) and pulling the cartridge towards you. After that, you must prepare the new toner cartridge for installation by unpacking it, and then shaking it horizontally at least 6 times, in order to loosen and evenly distribute the toner. Please note that you must also remove the protective cover from the new toner cartridge, before its installation into the drum unit, but avoid shaking or tilting the new toner cartridge once the protective cover is removed. Now, you must insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit, until it clicks firmly into place and the blue lock lever is automatically elevated. The next step of the replacement procedure includes the cleaning of the scanner window with a dry, soft cloth, and once the scanner window is clean, you must perform the primary corona wire cleaning procedure.

Primary Corona Wire Cleaning

1. Locate the blue cleaning tab. Please note that the blue cleaning tab is located on the top side of the drum unit.
2. Grasp the blue cleaning tab.
3. Slide the blue cleaning tab to the end of the corona wire cleaning channel, and then return it back to its original position.
4. Repeat 5 times the previous step (Step 3).
5. Make sure that the blue cleaning tab is back to its original position.  

Once the primary corona wire is cleaned, you must finalize the replacement procedure by inserting the drum assembly (new toner cartridge+drum unit) into the printer, and then close the front cover.
