How to Install a Fuser Maintenance Kit in the HP Color LaserJet 4500n Printer
The fuser maintenance kit includes the following consumable components: a Fuser Assembly Unit, four Paper Rollers, and two Air Filters. The installation of each of these components is included separately below. Please follow the installation order.
Installation of the Fuser Assembly Unit
In the first step of the installation, you must turn the HP Color LaserJet 4500n Printer off, wait 10 minutes for the fans to stop running, and then disconnect the power cable from the power source. Please note that you should wait additional 30 minutes before proceeding with the next step of the installation. Next, you must open the rear door, and then release its straps by squeezing the corresponding latches. After that, you must turn the blue latches of the installed fuser assembly upward 90 degrees, and then remove the used fuser assembly by pulling it straight towards you. Now, you must unpack the new fuser assembly, and then slide it firmly into the laser printer. Finally, you must rotate the two blue latches down, and then proceed with the installation of the Air Filters.
Installation of the Air Filters
Once the new fuser assembly is installed, you must remove the two used air filters from the rear fan areas. Then, you must use the included hand wipe to clean the fan areas. After that, you must unpack the new air filters, and then insert them into the laser printer. Now, you must reattach the support straps, close the upper rear door, and then proceed with the installation of the paper rollers.
Installation of the Paper Rollers
After the installation of the air filters, you must pull Tray 2 out of the main unit, and locate the paper roller in the top of the Tray 2 cavity. Next, you must remove the used paper roller by pulling it to the right while squeezing its tabs, and then unpack the new paper roller. Now, you must slide the new paper roller onto the spindle inside the tray cavity until the new component clicks into place, and then open the little cover inside Tray 2. At this stage of the installation, you must remove the used roller from Tray 2 by squeezing the tabs and sliding the roller to the left, and then install the new paper roller. After that, you must close the cover inside Tray 2, insert Tray 2 back into the laser printer, and then repeat the current procedure for any additional paper trays (if available).
