When do I Replace an Ink Cartridge in the HP Color Copier 145?

You must replace an installed ink cartridge(s), if:

The cartridge is nearly empty
You have executed all maintenance procedures, but print quality is unsatisfactory
HP Color Copier 145 displays warning or error message, which indicates an ink cartridge related abnormality

Please note that you can obtain useful information about the installed ink cartridges by printing a self-test page. To print a self-test page, you must press the [Menu] button several times until ‘’Self-Test’’ is displayed, and then press the [Select/Resume] button.
Please install a new ink cartridge(s), if any of the listed system notifications and print-quality issues appears.

‘’Remove and check cartridge’’ – You must make sure that the indicated ink cartridge is a correctly installed, compatible component. Please replace the indicated ink cartridge, if the problem persists.

‘’No Cartridge. Insert cartridge’’ – The HP Color Copier 145 does not detect the specified ink cartridge. This could be due to an incorrectly installed, missing, or faulty ink cartridge. Therefore, you must make sure that the indicated ink cartridge is firmly inserted into the appropriate slot of the inkjet copier. You will have to install a new ink cartridge, if the error message continues to appear.

‘’Remove and check black cartridge. Verify Part Number: 51645A’’ or ‘’Remove and check color cartridge. Verify Part Number: C1823A’’ – The indicated ink cartridge cannot be used in your HP Color Copier 145. You must install a new compatible ink cartridge of the specified color.

‘’Additional cleaning will be ineffective. Replace cartridge.’’ – The indicated ink cartridge has been exhausted. You must install a new ink cartridge of the indicated color to avoid print quality problems.

How to Install an Ink Cartridge in the HP Color Copier 145

In the first step of the installation, you must open the document cover, and then open the ink-cartridge access cover. After that, you must lift the latch of the slot where the exhausted ink cartridge is installed. Then, you must remove the exhausted ink cartridge by pulling it straight up. In the next step of the installation, you must unpack the new ink cartridge, and carefully remove both the green pull-tab and blue tape from the contact area of the new component. Please note that the color ink cartridge must be installed into the left slot, and resp. the black ink cartridge must be installed into the right slot. Now, you must insert the new ink cartridge into the correct slot, and then close the slot latch. Finally, you must close the ink-cartridge access cover and the document cover, wait until ‘’Press Resume to Align Cartridges’’ is displayed, and then press the [Resume] button.
