The drum cartridge installed in your Xerox WorkCentre 4118 Multifunctional Laser System has a printing resource for approximately 20000 copies/prints. Once the total number of already printed pages is close to the above maximal number, you will see the following message ‘’Drum Warning’’ appearing in the WorkCentre 4118`s LCD display. After the initial appearance of the above message, you will be still able to print/copy approximately 1000 more copies/prints, but the printing quality will be drastically reduced. The only available action in the above situation is a drum cartridge replacement. You should also replace the drum cartridge of your Xerox WorkCentre 4118 Multifunctional Laser System, if you notice constantly reappearing background fogging, blurred images, blank copies, solid copies, multiple white bandings, or various black/color bandings on the printed document.

Initially, you must open the side cover by pulling its release latch, and then pull the right side of the front cover to open it. Now, you must remove the toner cartridge by turning up its locking lever and pulling the cartridge slowly towards you. After that, you will be able to take out the exhausted drum cartridge by pulling it towards you. Once the old/exhausted drum cartridge is removed, you must unpack the new one and insert it into the drum cartridge slot, but be careful not to touch the drum`s surface. When you have completely inserted the new drum cartridge, you can return the toner cartridge to its original place and turn its release lever in locked position. Finally, you must close both front and side covers of your Xerox WorkCentre 4118 Multifunctional Laser System.
