XEROX WORKCENTRE M15I DRUM

The lifespan of the drum installed in your Xerox WorkCentre M15i Laser Printer is approx. 15,000 copies/prints at 5% coverage. You can check the number of pages printed using the installed drum from the Information Tab of the Xerox WorkCentre ControlCentre. You should perform the drum cleaning procedure (included below) from time to time, in order to be maintained optimal print quality.

Drum Cleaning

You must load paper into the tray, and then enter the menu mode by pressing the [Menu/Exit] button. After that, you must press the [^] button several times until ‘’Maintenance’’ is displayed, and then press the [Enter] button. Finally, you must start the cleaning procedure by pressing the [Enter] button one more time.

You should replace the installed drum with a new one when:

‘’Drum Warning’’ appears on the LCD screen – The drum counter is near the maximal prints number. You should install a new drum soon.

You have executed the drum cleaning procedure, but print quality remains unsatisfactory.

You must start the replacement procedure by opening the side cover of your Xerox WorkCentre M15i Laser Printer, and then open the front cover. After that, you must unlock the toner cartridge by turning its locking lever upwards, and then pull the toner cartridge towards you to remove it from the main unit. In the next step, you must remove the used drum by slowly pulling it towards you, and then take the new drum out of its protective packaging, making sure not touch its photoconductive surface. Once the new drum is prepared, you must slide it firmly into place, and then reinstall the toner cartridge. Finally, you must close the front cover and the side cover, and then confirm that a new drum has been installed by selecting ‘’1.Yes’’. In case that the ‘’NEW DRUM?’’ message is not displayed, you will have to reset the drum counter manually by selecting [Maintenance] – [New Drum] – [1. Yes].
