When do I Replace a Drum in the Xerox WorkCentre XE60 Laser Printer?

You should install a new drum when:

The [Drum] indicator is on – Please note that the [Drum] indicator is located between the [Jam] and the [Toner] indicators. The drum indicator illustrates a black roller. This indicator will be turned on when the installed drum reaches near the end of its useful life. Please also note that you will be able to print up to 1,000 new pages after the initial appearance of the currently described indication.

The following error code ‘’J2’’ is displayed on the LCD screen – The installed drum has been exhausted. You must install a new drum in your Xerox WorkCentre XE60 Laser Printer. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

How to Install a Drum in the Xerox WorkCentre XE60 Laser Printer

Please wait a few minutes for the Xerox WorkCentre XE60 Laser Printer to cool. Then, you must pull the front cover towards you to open it. After that, you must remove the toner cartridge from the main unit, and then pull the used drum gently towards you to remove it from the compartment. Now, you must unpack the new drum, being careful not touch the surface of the photoconductor, and then slide the new component along the guides of the slot. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the black protective paper from the new drum, and then reinstall the toner cartridge. Once the toner cartridge is reinstalled, you must close the front door while pressing the [Toner Density] button. Finally, you must test your Xerox WorkCentre XE60 Laser Printer.
