XEROX WORKCENTRE XE80 DRUM

The drum cartridge installed in your Xerox WorkCentre XE80 Printer has a printing resource for approximately 18000 pages. However, the above maximal number will vary depending on the average percentage of overall page coverage. Once the drum cartridges is near the end of its useful life, the drum indicator LED will be on, and the remaining drum resource will be enough for a maximum of 1000 more copies/prints. Eventually, the printing resource of the drum cartridge will be completely consumed, the drum indicator LED will start blinking, and all printing/copying operations will be blocked/suspended. Herein, you should purchase a new drum cartridge soon after the initial drum warning. You should also replace the drum cartridge of your Xerox WorkCentre XE80 Printer, if you notice constantly reappearing background fogging, blurred images, blank copies, solid copies, multiple white bandings, or various black/color bandings on the printed document.

Before starting the drum cartridge replacement procedure, you should wait for your Xerox WorkCentre XE80 Printer to cool down. Then, you must start the drum cartridge replacement procedure by opening the front door of your WorkCentre XE80. Now, you must take out the toner cartridge by pulling it towards you and holding its top handle once it`s accessible. Please note, that if you have skipped the ‘’cooling’’ period, the fusing unit (located beneath the drum cartridge) will be very hot. In the next step of the drum cartridge replacement procedure, you must hold the tabs of the exhausted drum cartridge and slowly take the cartridge out by pulling it up and out in a circular motion. Once the old/exhausted drum cartridge is out, you must unpack the new one and completely insert it into the drum cartridge slot by holding its tabs and sliding it along the slot`s runners/guides. After that, you must remove the black protective paper from the new drum cartridge and return the toner cartridge to the toner cartridge slot. Finally, you must close the front door of your WorkCentre XE80 while pushing down the second button (left-right) of the printer`s control panel, and holding down the same button for additional 5 seconds.
