When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Xerox WorkCentre XD103f Laser Printer?

The built-in monitoring system of your Xerox WorkCentre XD103f Laser Printer is programmed to notify you when a toner cartridge related problem occurs. You should install a new toner cartridge in the laser printer when any of the listed and described indications appears.

The [Toner] indicator on the control panel of your Xerox WorkCentre XD103f Laser Printer is on – The level of remaining toner is very low. Please be aware that all copy/print operations will be disabled after less than 10 new copies/prints. It is recommended the installed toner cartridge to be replaced immediately.

‘’CH’’ is displayed – The status of the installed toner cartridge cannot be checked/verified by the built-in monitoring system. There several possible causes for this problem:

Incorrectly installed toner cartridge
Missing toner cartridge
Damaged toner cartridge

You must make sure that the toner cartridge is a supported/authorized product that has been installed correctly into the laser printer. Please install a new toner cartridge if the problem persists.

Print/copy quality is unsatisfactory – You can try to improve print quality (at least temporarily) by redistributing the toner. A new toner cartridge should be installed soon.

Please note that you can cut costs per page by enabling the Toner Save mode. Toner Save mode reduces the toner consumption by decreasing the overall copy/print density. Therefore, the Toner Save mode should be used only for making draft copies.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Xerox WorkCentre XD103f Laser Printer

You must make sure that the laser printer is in a Stand-by/Ready mode (turned on, but not printing), and then lower the alternate paper tray. After that, you must open the side cover by pressing its release lever, and then open the front cover. Next, you must press the green releasing button of the used toner cartridge and pull the cartridge straight towards you to remove it from the main unit. Now, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the transport packaging, shake it 8-10 times from side to side, and then remove the protective cover from the front side (the shutter) of the new component. Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must slide it along the guides of the slot until you hear a click, and then close the front cover. In the concluding step of the replacement procedure, you must close the side cover of your Xerox WorkCentre XD103f Laser Printer, and wait for the [Ready] indicator to light.

The base model is quite compact, but its size will be increased with you add additional features. Its dimensions are14.9 inches by 20.4 inches by 19.3 inches and weighs 48.5 pounds. It features a photo mode that will help to bring out the detail in the originals without relying on the user to make the proper settings.

Replacing toner cartridges for the Xerox XD103F won’t be a large hole in your wallet. They are affordable and yield 6,000 pages. Using the toner saver mode will increase your savings.

The Xerox WorkCentre XD103F offers an outstanding combination of outstanding printing and low prices. Output is of professional quality and is easily readable at 4 point fonts.

Cons:

Paper handling is limited. The WorkCentre XD103 only comes with a 250 page paper tray. The XD103 falls behind other prints in speed and paper capacity, but its excellent print quality and low price make it a solid buy.
