You should replace the installed drum unit when the message [CHANGE DRUM SOON] appears on the LCD screen of your Brother intelliFAX 4800 Fax Machine.

How to Install a Drum Unit in the Brother intelliFAX 4800 Fax Machine

Initially, you must open the top cover of the fax machine, and then remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly from the main compartment. After that, you must remove the toner cartridge from the exhausted drum unit, and then take the new drum unit out of the protective aluminum bag. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must install the toner cartridge into the new drum unit, and then insert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the Brother intelliFAX 4800 Fax Machine. Finally, you must close the top cover of the fax machine. Please note that the machine will eject the starter sheet automatically.
