The lifespan of a new drum unit is approx. 15,000 pages (based on 3 pages per print job). Please be aware that the usage of heavily laid or textured paper seriously shortens the useful life of the installed drum units. You can check the life counters of the installed drum units from the [Usage] menu. You should replace the installed drum units if any of the listed messages and print quality problems appears. Please note that you can solve some print quality problems by cleaning the LED heads and/or by enabling the [DRUM CLEANING] feature.

The message [ORDER DRUM] is displayed – The indicated drum unit is nearing end of life. You should replace the specified component soon in order to be avoided print quality problems.

The message [REPLACE DRUM : DRUM LIFE] is displayed – The indicated drum unit has reached the end of its useful life. You must replace the exhausted component.

You must start the replacement procedure by opening the top cover of your OkiData C5200n Color Laser Printer. Next, you must pull the exhausted drum unit along with the installed toner cartridge out of the laser printer, and then remove the toner cartridge from the exhausted component. After that, you must take the new drum unit out of the protective bag, and then remove the protective tape, the paper sheet, the silica gel pack, and the clear plastic sheet from the new component. Now, you must insert the new drum unit into the machine, and then remove the orange seal from the new component. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit, and then push the colored lock lever towards the rear side of the OkiData C5200n Color Laser Printer. Finally, you must wipe the corresponding LED head with the included lens cleaner pad, and then close the top cover of the laser printer.
