When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier?

The toner cartridge installed in your Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier has a lifespan of approx. 43,000 pages at 5% coverage. You must replace the installed toner cartridge with a new one if:

There is no response from the Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier when you press the [Copy] button – You should check the laser copier for paper jams. A new toner cartridge must be installed if the problem has not been caused by a paper jam.

Copies are faded/too light – The toner level is too low. You should install a new toner cartridge.

‘’Toner is almost empty’’, or ‘’Replace Toner Bottle’’ is displayed on the LCD screen – The remaining toner is enough for about 1,000 new copies. You must make sure that you have a replacement toner cartridge for your Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier in stock.

‘’Add Toner’’ is displayed on the LCD screen – Printing has been disabled due to an insufficient toner level. The only available action is the installation of a new toner cartridge. The complete replacement procedure is available below.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover of your Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier, and then pull the toner cartridge holder towards you until it is at an angle of 90degrees from the main unit. After that, you must unlock the used toner cartridge by raising the green releasing lever, and then take the exhausted component out of the laser copier. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must loosen and redistribute the toner by shaking the new toner cartridge seven-eight times horizontally, and then remove the protective outer cap. Now, you must align the new toner cartridge with the holder, and then push it down until it clicks into place. In the concluding step, you must push the toner cartridge holder back to its original position, and then close the front cover of your Gestetner DSm-651 Laser Copier.
