FS-4000DN DRUM

You can check the status and the life counter of the installed drum unit by printing a Status Page. The installed drum unit must be replaced if any of the listed error codes and print quality problems appears.

The error code [7410] is displayed – The Kyocera Mita FS-4000DN Laser Printer does not detect any signal from the PWB EEPROM of the drum unit. You must make sure that the drum unit is installed correctly, and then restart the laser printer. Please install a new drum unit if the problem persists.

Repetitive image defects appearing at 3,7008 in intervals – The sensitive surface of the installed drum unit is damaged. You must replace the installed drum unit with a new one.

Black dots – The toner is leaking from the installed drum unit. You must install a new drum unit.

Black horizontal streaks – The installed drum unit is defective. Please install a new drum unit.

Black vertical streaks – This print quality problem indicates excessive contamination of the photoconductive drum or a defective drum unit. You must replace the installed drum unit.

Gray background – The surface charge/potential of the photoconductive drum is incorrect. Please install a new drum unit.

The installed waste toner container is in a good technical condition but the Kyocera Mita FS-4000DN Laser Printer detects the container as defective – The waste toner sensor of the installed drum unit is defective. You must replace the installed drum unit.

Initially, you must open the top cover of your Kyocera Mita FS-4000DN Laser Printer, and then open the multipurpose tray. Next, you must pull the developer unit out of the laser printer, and then open the left cover. After that, you must remove the waste toner container from the laser printer, and then pull the release lever of the exhausted drum unit towards you. Now, you must remove the exhausted drum unit from the machine, and then unpack the replacement component. Once the new drum unit is unpacked, you must slide it along the guides of the slot until it locks into place, and then reinstall the waste toner container. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must close the left cover, and then insert the developer unit into the printer. After that, you must close the multipurpose tray and the top cover. Finally, you must reset the drum count from the [Maintenance] menu of the control panel.
