C3400N MAGENTA DRUM

Your OKIDATA C3400N is equipped with four drum units, which are consumable components with a limited lifespan. Therefore, these important components/parts of your laser printer are constantly monitored by a precise built-in system, which will turn on the error LED in the control panel, if a drum unit related abnormality has been detected. The error LED will be blinking once every two seconds to indicate that a drum unit/units is/are near the end  of its/their useful life, and once every second, if an installed drum unit/units is/are completely exhausted. You could check the remaining resource of the drum units installed in your laser printer by navigating to the [Usage Menu] – [Item], where you must check each drum unit individually/separately (there is a different counter for each color). You should replace a drum unit/units, if its/their remaining print resource is lower than 10%. Otherwise, the print quality will be gradually decreasing, and you will inevitably experience a variety of print quality issues very soon.

You must start the drum unit replacement procedure by turning OFF your OKIDATA C3400N for at least 10 minutes, in order the fuser unit to cool down, and then open the top cover. After that, you must locate the exhausted drum unit, and then pull it out of the printer along with the securely attached toner cartridge of the corresponding color. Please note that the installed drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies must be arranged in the following order, from the rear side of the printer: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. Please also note that you should install a new toner cartridge from the corresponding color, when you are replacing an exhausted drum unit. Normally, both components (the toner cartridge and the drum unit) are sold assembled. Therefore, you should unpack the new toner cartridge and drum unit assembly, and then remove the protective sheets from the new drum unit. Now, you must insert the new assembly into the printer, but make sure that its pegs are fully inserted into the slot, and then use an LED lens cleaner or a soft tissue to clean the LED head, which is located on the top cover. Finally, you must close the top cover and test your OKIDATA C3400N.
