In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must press the corresponding toner cartridge button, and then wait until the toner cartridge indicator stops flashing. After that, you must open the top cover of the HP Color LaserJet CP1020, and then pull the exhausted toner cartridge out of the main unit. Now, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the protective bag, and then shake it several times from side to side. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the protective tape and the shield from the new toner cartridge, and then insert the new component into place. Once the new toner cartridge is inserted, you must finalize the replacement procedure by closing the top cover of your HP Color LaserJet CP1020.

Initially, you must open the top door assembly, and then open the rear door assembly. After that, you must remove the fixing screw of the right cover assembly, and then remove the assembly by releasing the five tabs. Now, you must open the top door assembly, and then remove the two screws from the top side of the control panel. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unplug the control panel connector, and then remove the control panel by releasing its tab. In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must open the top cover of your HP Color LaserJet CP1020, and then open the front cover. After that, you must unlock the exhausted drum unit by lifting the two levers, and then remove the exhausted component. Now, you must take the new drum unit out of the protective bag, and then detach the orange cover from the new component. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the new drum unit into place, and then return the two levers to their original position. Finally, you must close the front cover, and then close the top cover of your HP Color LaserJet CP1020.

You should replace the ITB assembly installed in your HP Color LaserJet CP1020 if any of the listed indications persists.

In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must hold the Power button for about seven seconds, and then load one sheet of paper into the input tray. After that, you must hold the cyan button for about two seconds, and then wait until the exhausted pickup roller rotates into the removal position. Now, you must switch the HP Color LaserJet CP1020 off, and then unplug the power cord.
