SHARP MX-2700N WASTE TONER CONTAINER

A REPLACE USED TONER CONTAINER message will appear on the Sharp MX-2700N’s LCD readout when it is necessary to change the waste toner box. To change the box, begin by opening the front cover of the unit. A waste toner box release button can be found directly under the toner cartridges. Press the button and allow the toner box to fall forward.

Pull the box upwards while holding with both hands and lifting slowly, being careful not to spill toner. Put a disposable piece of paper on a flat surface and set the box onto it, being sure that the holes are facing upwards.

Each of the five holes will be accompanied by five seals that must be removed and used to plug each of the holes. If the holes in the box are not plugged, it is likely that toner will escape the box.

Once the toner box has been properly sealed, a new waste toner box can be installed by dropping it down, at a slight angle, into the position that the old box was in. Push the box into the machine and it should snap into place, at which point the front cover can be closed and production resumed. Do not discard the old toner box but instead turn it in to a Sharp technician or an accredited recycling program.
