AL-1661CS OEM TONER CARTRIDGE

When a TONER IS LOW message appears on the Sharp AL-1661CS’s LCD screen, the time to change the cartridge is drawing near. Copies made with the machine will grow lighter and eventually a REPLACE THE TONER CARTRIDGE message will appear, at which point the cartridge will have to be replaced with a new one.

 

The order of opening the machine is as follows: bypass tray, side cover, front cover. If this order is altered the machine will not be able to open properly and damage may occur. The side cover can be opened via a small release button.

To remove the old toner cartridge, locate the lock release button on the end of the unit and press it. This will allow it to be pulled free of the machine and recycled. The used cartridge, though mostly empty, should never be tilted or jolted because it may still have a small amount of toner in it.

NOTE: Upon initial setup of the copy machine, a new toner cartridge must be installed.

Installing a new toner cartridge can only be done after the cartridge has been properly prepared for use. Unwrap the new cartridge from its bag and give it several good shakes from side to side to distribute the internal toner, then remove the protective cover found on the side of the cartridge.

 

Inserting the cartridge can be done by aligning it with the grooves in the machine and sliding it in as far as it will go, then pressing the lock release button and securing it inside the machine. With the cartridge in place, close the front cover, side cover, and bypass tray if necessary IN THAT ORDER. If the machine is off, flip the on switch and any warning messages should be gone.
 

 

To send a basic, original fax, be sure that there is not a current original on the document glass or a copy project in process. Adjust the guides on the automatic document feeder to match the width of the originals you will be faxing. Place the material FACE UP in the feeder with the top edge of the originals entering FIRST.

At this point, outgoing material can be scanned into the device’s memory and then sent, or it can simply be sent directly without committing to memory by pressing the MEMORY key.

 

Originals can also be sent one at a time by using the device’s document glass. First, make sure that there is no material in the document feeder. Place the original material on the document glass FACE DOWN and line up the center of the page with the arrow mark. Close the cover carefully.

NOTE: When faxing, document on the glass DO NOT get pushed to the upper right corner of the glass but instead are centered. It is possible to fax a copy of a three dimensional object by using the glass, but be careful to not force the cover down onto it.

 

Make adjustments as necessary to the size, resolution, and contrast settings, then dial the outgoing fax number. Press the START button. If you wish to send more than one page of material, rifle in the next page and press START again. When all pages have been scanned, press the # key to begin transmission.
 

The Sharp AL-1661CS Digital Laser Printer is equipped with a built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the toner levels of the toner cartridge. When the toner level becomes too low, the following message ``TONER IS LOW`` will appear on the AL-1661CS` display and the error indicator will light up. You must replace the exhausted toner cartridge, because the printing quality will be gradually reduced. Once the toner cartridge is completely out of toner, you will see the following message ``REPLACE THE TONER CARTRIDGE`` on the display and the error indicator will be blinking. Please note, that all printing operations will be disabled/blocked in this situation.
